So a few weeks ago I changed my overflow cap after noticing it wasn't holding pressure anymore, later that night I'm doin about 110mph on a local freeway n i looked down at my temp gauge & it read way past norm.I turned the heater on n got to the side of the road n limped the car back home. The next day I replaced the thermostat and gasket, went to fire up but upon reaching operating temp.the water in the upper rad.hose and overflow were boiling!
My first thought after searching tirelessly through threads was that it is a head gasket,if this is the case i'm F****d.
bit of history....2000 black/mdn blu w/106,000 on the clock
new water pump & belt @ 96,000 miles
after market fans
no other major issues.........until now:blackeye:

hi sorry you have 33 views and 0 response. so here's my half cent. i hade a 98 chevy lumina and it was doing the samething. but i drove the crap out of that car for a year and never hade a problem and my temp gage was about a 25% pass half

first stop being an idiot and driving that fast on public roads.

next check your coolant mix. when you turned the heat on was there heat? have you checked the waterpump? are you sure the coolant system is flowing?
