Here is my dad's car next to his Boss's 1930 Ford Model T Pickup hotrod.
For those who didn't see the last thread My dad's car is a 73 Mercury Capri 2600cc V6 4 spd MTX. He bought this brand new in 73 and this was the first car show it was in, in years. It has been in hibernation for 14 years. And yes that is the original paint.

My first car was a 75 Pinto but it had that same V6 in it from the factory. That was a fun little car to drive.
Loved to show up Chevy Monza's and the like...

The Capri Swarm.

The Capri Swarm.

Here we are at the Capri Swarm yesterday, Friday August 29th.
Just an example of what the swarm is, it's pretty much just like our Spring Zing but with Capris' its a 3 day event. My dad and I and a few others weren't going to be there all weekend, so the guy in charge of the site and such took pictures. My dad's car is a contender for Best Original Capri, if we wins this he will get a plaque. So enjoy the pictures.

This capri is a 77, totally modified with a 302 dropped in it and beefed up. This car is Effin insane! The spoilers (front and rear) were custom made even the fender flairs were custom made.

Another one with a V8 (302).

Then we went to a truck stop to get a bite to eat at a Sbarro pizza.

Then when we got back to the drag strip (where the swarm was held) this happened.
My dad's car turned exactly 44,000 miles.

The dark blue one with the V8 was running down the track until he had a problem with fuel cut off just COASTING he said he ran a 17 something at 74 or 75mph he thinks it'll run about 12s.
Me and my dad were going to go watch it run until this guy out of Oregon comes up he is from a magazine called Legendary Ford, and asked Norm (the guy in charge of it all) about a Capri he wants to shoot pictures of he asks Norm about my dad's and he said well this is the original paint, original owner and all that and he comes up to my dad and says he actually shot pictures of my dad's Capri to put in his magazine we were totally blown away. He said it'll be in his January or February issue. Hope you guys enjoy the pictures. I can't wait til the issue of Legendary Ford comes out with my dad's car in it. I'll try to either find the article online or take a picture of it and post it.
