I took this same picture 6 times. SIX! and this is the best that it got, they always come out grainy or blurry, and it doesnt matter what settings I use, they always come out the same.

Anyways, aside form grainyness do you think this pic could have been calander worthy?

It looks more of a distance issue than anything else. You would need a telephoto lens to get more light or just move closer to the shot. Try setting the ISO to its lowest level (100, 80,) or lower if your camera goes that far. adjust shutter to its slowest speed (it lets in more light also).

I wouldn't want that in the Calendar, no matter how good the photo is. Pretty ghetto, unkempt ... downright scary location .. I feel like I'm going to be mugged just looking at it.

    I would expect that comment from someone from NH, but on the other end I remember seeing plenty of closed down factories' in the Portsmouth area back in 84 when I was stationed up there. But again they call that historical site up there too    don't get offended I 'm just giving U the biz.

Sorry Alias. Upon rereading, that comment was unnecessarily harsh. But I can't take it back, that building really is scary.

Recoveryone, I'm just a relocated M*sshole :) no offense taken! However, a vast number of New England's abandoned factories have been converted into upper-class condominiums in the past 5 years. It's an excellent way to get housing into downtown areas and clean up old neighborhoods. The area has improved a lot since the 80s.

no offence taken, This is actually the older area of Ann Arbor, off of State street, I was driving up it and I saw this old back road behind a neat cafe that I had to check out, I liked the idea of this backdrop because I am "trying" to make my car look kind of like a "hard ass." if that makes any sense, with the color scheme (if my camera didnt suck) you can see that my 'tour blends in with the backdrop.

Its not a bad area at all just an old abandoned office building with graffiti all over it, was kinda neat to check it all out.

I'll punch through and say the location is fine. What you need to do is get nothing but building as the backdrop. Tinker with that idea, trust me. :)

taking a good hard look at the pic, I would move the car over near the fuse box (remove the shovel and bucket). retake the shot close to sunset, in the shot just have the car and the block wall in the frame. I would like to see a HDR shot if possible.

I see what you are getting at, and I approve. Now all I need is to get Mexican down here with his stupidly amazing camera.
