Anything look wrong in this?

Tom,
I sent you an email last night right after you wrote me that one. In this thread I said it was by no means your fault and I am not holding you or anyone responsible for this. Heck, Im trying to get all the stuff myself, just like any other brake kit. I got the new bolts today, I hope to be getting a new caliper soon, ordered some pads, and have a rotor waiting hopefully from Stazi. I have everything else. The bracket is fine and the spacers are fine too. I dont have the washers but ill go out tomorrow and get some more. Like I said in the email, if you want to, I will be more than happy to send you the stuff, everything I have including the pads, rotor if you want...etc. I did not post the pics of here of anything with the caliper, I just sent them to Rara because he asked about it, Stazi because you said he was going to come up and check it out and I wanted to save him gas, and you. I didnt think I was doing anything wrong. I didnt even want to post what happened with the brake kit. I honestly dont even remember saying in the post anything about your brake kit. I remember saying a bolt broke on my brakes. The only reason I called you was to let you know what happened since it was your kit....not saying that failed..who knows what happened. Maybe the alignment shop loosened the bolt and didnt tighten it. I was not calling to get another brake kit out of this. I was going to find everything on my own just like I am doing....
Sorry you are disappointed in me Tom let me know what I should do next time please,
Bill

Ya, I dont see why anyone would get out of this just because I had a problem with my car. Its some dumbass install error by me probably....
Im still using the brake kit when I get it fixed...or at the least the rears....

Bill it is only the perception of things I am talking about. I'm not saying you were wrong at all, but since I've been unable to assess it and here we have a post that has it and at least one person says "not to buy this kit" then it makes it obvious that the 'perception' is the kit is at fault.
I just got done with dinner and now I have to sleep for another 0445 wakeup time. Don't sweat it, but always remember that there are going to be second and third order effects from things we do. Don't go out and buy any new hardware. At the least we will send you replacement hardware to get you up and running as soon as possible.

You might just take a small ball peen hammer to the dents in your wheel and shape them so they don't show up very well, then replace the broken parts. Once you send me the old parts I will send out the new ones Fedex so you should have them in just a few days. You should send your old parts back priority mail, costs about $8-$10 at most and will get here fast.

Honestly I think if you have your spacers and brackets that they will not have any issues. It is the bolts and washers that you will need so send in any pieces and we'll send you some new ones that are plated for corrosion resistance. Or if you don't want to wait for my bolts then buy zinc plated 10.9 hardnes bolts, M12x1.75 I think is the pitch.

I can wait for your bolts...I pay you for them since I know they are not cheap. Send me a email/PM with your address you would like the stuff shipped too, along with what parts you want...caliper, pads, line...etc, and the price for the bolts/washers.

Yeah, we all know starjammer is a wussy little punk who probably didn't tighten the bolts tight enough.

I told him next time to go by the RFT spec (real f'ing tight) :) or the actual torque spec if you can finagle a torque wrench in there.

I just saw this thread for the first time this morning,

I know it sucks about happened, but if anything it shows me the brake kit was stronger then the Contour  I may just have an akward view of things, but if the brake setup was strong enough to bend the hardware, loosen/snap a bolt, take out a rim, destroy a rotor, and render the car stopped.... The brake kit itself is a monster for stopping power!

Poor me would never be able to accomplish such a thing with the tiny stock non SVT brakes calipers

I like the way you think...
Barge...fly over to my house and tighten it for me then lol.

He's not faster!
He just reaches out and grabs them, though!

Rims are actually quite soft when compared to a brake caliper, factor in the speed and the momentum of everything when cruising down an off ramp. he's lucky it didnt do more damage imo.... anyways its a shame that the wheel(s) got banged up, and pretty much destroyed. Hopefully you can find a replacement(s)

I had a very similar event this morning happen. my top caliper bolt came out and luckily i was stopping at a stop sign. It was grinding then got stopped and the car wouldn't move lol. I backed the car about a mile from home then walked the rest. Had to take the bolt out rotor off then put the one bolt i had left in the top and drove her home with no rotor using just the ebrake:blackeye:

Just throwing out my .02 as an uninvolved observer.

Tom, first off, I've been reading this thread from day 1, and in my opinion, I don't think anyone took this as something related to your brake kit. The same thing could have happened if he were going w/ OEM replacement. Also. I think that is exactely how starjammer represented it. Anyone who has been on the site for longer than an hour should realize you know your stuff, and hence wouldn't doubt you or a product of yours.

Starjammer, I also see how you were just posting pics of what happened, and in no way in the thread have you blamed anyone else for this happening. Nice to see some integrity is still around in some people. Good luck getting her back together.

Thank you! When I first started to read your reply I was thinking Oh no he is going to chew my ass for something LOL. Im glad to see that some people are realizing that it could happen with anything...baer, wilwood...anything. Its my fault and all, and am by no means blaming anyone. I hope to get her back together soon....just a few more pieces parts.

Sorry about that bro. Its crappy. Hope everything works out for you too. Be glad you realized that something was happening and were not on the highway...eeks.

I caught mine like this right as the rotor locked up with the caliper and would have broke. Just to clarify thi is not one of warmongers kits. this is just regular svt brakes. bad part is they haven't been touched since january when I installed the crossdrilled rotors:blackeye:
