Anyone know a good car audio place near Woburn MA?

you should give installing something like this a shot yourself, its isn't that bad and would save you alot. in terms of good prices I would search the internet before buying from a store as that will save you alot also. But I do suggest going to BB or CC and trying and listening to units before you pic one ...

If the Tweeter is still open in Burlington, their install crew wasn't bad the last I'd heard.

There's a place in Medford called Krank It Up on Mystic Ave. that has a good rep, too.

The other option is to go through Crutchfield to order your gear, and get an "install card." It'll be good for one system install, and they'll recommend a top shop in the area. Crutchfield's customer service has treated us really well in the past, so I can't really say enough good about them.

Buy harness, plug into stock connector, match wires to the ones coming out of new stereo. I actually watched an ardvark install a stereo once.

No need to be a tool, man. He didn't ask for a place to install a stereo, he asked for a stereo place.
You gotta buy the equipment somewhere, ya know.

i would try tweeter if they are still doing installations. after filing for bankruptcy, they probably have some good equipment deals.

I pass by a place in downtown reading a lot too, Sound Unlimited on Main Street. Never been there, but they have been around for a few years and have a clean-looking shop.

   Guess I missed that. Didn't realize someone didn't know of Best Buy, Circuit City or Crutchfield. Lets of stereo site's as well as the one on this forum.

Crutchfield FTW! I learned so much just from their catalog back in the days I gave a crap about car audio.
Agreed. They are overpriced but they also give you exact schematics how to install the stereo into your own car.

some of crutchfield's stuff is reasonable. especially the end of season stuff.

it's amazing how much my priorities have shifted away from custom car audio over the last 5-7 years.

Certain things I like to see before I buy, and BB and CC only carry some brands and not every model..

Also if I did go with CC they have free install on 99 and up radios, but I am a believer that nothing is truly free and if it is chances are it sucks....

Just was looking for a few good local shops to consider looking at merchandise and if the price is right buying from.

To bad this place is two and a half hours from you (the one in Orange, CT):

They have a great installer, Doug (black98csvt). He's done work on my SVT and my Exploder when he came down to PA the last time. He's even worked on Checker'd SVT's commuter car. Does clean installs, for sure.

He's done a bunch of work on Steph's (Joel4Prez) car. She has a remote start, installed her stereo and installed a nifty car alarm for her.

I don't trust many people with my SVT but I trust Doug with my car. :)
