Well, I either broke my knukoncepts jackshaft or the SC took a Poop.

Symptoms: No Boost, no typical screeching, rattling, grinding associated with a broken jackshaft. I swallowed a little pride and gave TH a call since he was the person who installed it for OffroadSVT(that took a lot for me to do BTW) and he suggested it possibly could've been the keyway that hold the pulley in place, pulled the screw & cap off and everything looks fine there so I have it narrowed down to SC unit or the updated jackshaft.

All just days before SZ... :(

Mark,

Something else I thought of after reading your post is that you need to get the belt off that pulley and load check it by hand to really see if the keyway is the culprit. A visual inspection won't really give you any idea if the key sheared and the shaft is rotating inside of it. It would also be a better explanation of the reason there wasn't any grinding noises, etc happening. Id' go that route first just to make sure you eliminate that possible cause.

I know you're short on tools, but you might have to do what I've done in the past and grab a $50 all in one set of tools from the nearest Kmart, Target, O'Reilly's, etc. I have about 3 full sets of tools just due to this scenario.

Marks probably at skunkworks by now, and if not jason and I have tools to get to him. I think the problem is that its too close to SZ now

I took the screw & cap off to check it and everything is still aligned and I even fired the car with the bolt & cap removed. (I know thats not really advisable...) the shaft appears to spin freely and stays aligned with the keyway.

Once you do get the culprit nailed down, I suggest you contact the installer or source & see if you can get a warranty replacement (if applicable) sent overnight. Might still be able to make SZ.

And the fact it was purchased about 6 years ago. LOL! Should be fun finding discontinued Vortec parts.

Update

Update

Alex (The Five-Oh) came out with some extra tools and we pulled the belt off and the intake banjo off the head unit. The pulley & jackshaft turn easily by hand and the impeller doesn't move. The impeller turns easily by hand as well, no signs of gear bind. I checked the oil and there is no bits of metal in the pan or drain hose from what I can tell. When everything was reassembled and the car was started I took a screw driver and listened to the tube, blockhousing and the head unit. you can hear where the sound abruptly stops just before the head unit inside of the block housing. So as of now it looks like I broke some part of the knukoncepts update. :( sometimes its not being the first at something.

The good news is the car is drivable, and apart from no boost there aren't any strange noises or bad sounds. It will still be at the hotel for SZ.

Mark,

I know part of the process on those shafts was shortening it up and then reattaching the splined portion to the main shaft. I'm wondering if you didn't just break the connection inside that bearing housing which would account for no noises/grinding/etc.

You can pull the S/C and get access to the shaft without too much effort. I'd look in that direction first.

LOL, what are you smoking TDF? There is no warranty when it comes to this stuff.

 Sorry guys, guess I'm a bit ignorant on this one. I thought since it was not a Vortec piece that there may have been a custom fab recently done.

I'll STFU now & just read.... :o

I remember marl saying to me at some point the car was staying in MI and he was getting a ride home for now ...

I actually drove the car back to LA. I'm guessing the jackshaft is still intact because its still centric/centralized. As soon as I can take the blower out I will, but for now the car drives and isn't making any death noises so it will stay as it is for a little while until i can get a few days to pull it apart. (right now work is busy so I have no time)
