so i got the bright idea (after a large rock came up and hit my car) to go ahead and paint my evo carbon fiber hood. I'm sure that there are people that are going to flame me for years for painting it, but my main reasoning behind it was that i wanted something different and i also had a large rock chip in the front of the hood. Anyways let me know what you guys think.

Thanks guys. I know quite a few guys have this hood, but i didn't know if anyone had ever painted one? My girlfriend didn't like it, but everyone else that has seen it has really liked it and said that it flows with the car really well. Now all i need is for someone to sell me a carbon fiber trunk lid so that it will match all the way back.

That looks amazing, good job, man I wish i could have a CF hood. Good job with the painting, it matches the contours well, which if it didnt would prob look like crap

Awesome!!!

She usually likes all of the modifications that i do to the car, but she said that she was more of a fan of the plain carbon fiber hood than she was of the painted one. Oh well we have disagreements on things that are more important than my toy, but im glad to see you guys liking it. I will try to get some pictures up of my stereo install as i come along on it.

I like it quite a bit. The stripes are a nice detail. However, it looks to me like it is slightly off-center. It appears to be slightly offset to the passenger side. Not very much, but as a sign maker I tend to notice small details like that. I can spot a crooked line of text on a sign from a mile off. :D

Ya it's off just a hair, I need to fine tune the alignment on it but for about five minutes of adjustment that is where i am at. I was starving so i decided to take a break and get something to eat. lol.

Oh and its actually not a stripe. My painter actually just masked off the center of the hood and then laid a 1/4 inch piece of tape down, and then painted the hood. Then he lifted the tape, so its actually paint, carbon fiber, paint, carbon fiber. I pretty well had no idea on what he was going to do. All that i did was drop it off to him with a general idea of what i wanted and this is what came out. The guy is a really good painter if you ask me.

I might have flared it at the beginning so it followed the lines of the front oval more, but it looks good.

I basically agree with Tourige.

I like what you had done, but the first 1/4 - 1/3 of the "stripe" does not follow the the natural line of the hood the same way the rest of it does, otherwise it is a great idea.

from the edge of the front oval would look a little better but that looks great. been thinking about the same with mine but dont got the balls to do it
