Another one just arrived at my door... and yes more are on the way!

After we get the trans done in the red car, I will give you a hand in swapping the motor into this silver car :)

escort gt:laugh: i've been looking for a late 80's one in good shape for two years now

I think the late 80's GT's used a High output version of the 1.9L EFI motor.

then the 90's had the 1.8L DOHC motor.

I would probably prefer one with the DOHC motor, it was a little bit smoother and more powerful of a motor.

I had an 88 GT & a 93 GT at the same time. The 88 was faster, but I liked the 93 alot more. This was stock for stock.

the last gen use's a mazda motor..lots of potential...plus since its built on the same platform as the mazda mx3 the 200 hp mazda klze v6(ho version of the pgt engine) is a possible engine swap

For a fun swap, I'd prefer the gsx swap in about a 95 GT. :) Boosted 1.8 with around 220 in a little escort makes for one fun car. All the mounts and stuff from the gt work as well. Not too difficult, but a little pricey for the hard to find parts.

And yes, the 86 GT was the first year they used the 1.9 EFI which had 110hp. The regular 1.9's were still carb'd. I think in 87 all were EFI but the GT's still had 20hp or more over the LX's 1.9, etc... Fun fun cars. I ran out of time to meet the guy on it but it is a VERY nice car from what I have seen and after talking to the guy.
