amp not working?

Yes, its a sentra. I got the whole set up for free, and when she had it she saw no dimming at all..so im wondering whats up with that. It is a pretty suck amp, and I want to find another amp, but don't wanna pay a lot of money..know what i mean? Is the dimming hurting my car? It starts up every single time, thats why i ask.

Nope, not a monoblock, but you may be right about the Sentra part, That would have been helpful to know from the beginning. I dont know anything about Nissans.
 
Go to autozone, pepboys, napa etc... any place that will do a free test on your alternator and battery. When you say you got it for free and no dimming issues before, do you mean you bought the car with the system already installed and didnt used to have issues??

I got the system for free, and the car it was in before had no dimming issue. I know there ain't a problem with the altnernator or battery, because when its not on i have dimming issues whatsoever. It only occurs when the subs are pounding.
 
My guess is the Nissan has an alternator of under 100a. Charging systems on older import cars are absolute garage if you want to run a system. I assume there are Sentra forums which could get you some information about your electrical system.
 
I am going to go to autozone and look at there inventory to see what they have, as far as alternators go. But where would be a place to get performance alternators?
 
If you goto autozone, look for an oem replacement alt, get the specs on it, then you will know what you are working with. I asked the same question, where to find higher output alternators and the only response I got was ebay. Find forums for your car and ask the question there. This is the Contour enthusiast group, not Sentra enthusiasts.
 
Well i have been trying to find a good site, but figured i might be able to get a bit of help here. I found out that my alternators only 70A..>.>
