Looking in from the inside of the door (All interior trim currently gutted) I see 2 14 mm bolts that are holding the windows in place. I removed these bolts and it seems as if there is some sort of clip that I cannot grasp to remove the glass.

I also would like any advice to remove the FRONT and REAR WINDSHIELDs as they will be taken off to be tinted and while the car is in paint!

Any advice is much appreciated. I am taking these out to paint the car as well as get them tinted!

Ihad to replace the regulator in driver's door. You have to remove the outside mirror and the exterior bottom weatherstrip. This gives room to wiggle the window and it will come loose and pull out (toward the outside). Hope this helps.

The weather stripping? Which one there are like 500 I pulled off the car already. Is this directly under the door! Currently all my windows are down. Does this make it harder or easier?

those whiteish clips need to be removed. The easist way I did that was to put a flat head screw driver wrapped in a cloth between the clip and the window. Be careful in doing this as you cannot apply too much pressure for obvious reasons.

EDIT: oh an harbor freight has a windshield removal tool for very cheap under 20.00 IIRC.

When you remove the side windows they only need to be rolled down about halfway. There are two access holes in the middle of the door frame that line up with two bolts on the window carrier. I think he is refering to the weather stripping that sits against the window itself.

Please understand there is nothing personal here...............................BUT....................only a complete fool or someone who has not a clue what they are doing would remove the front/rear windshields so can do what you want. Windshields get like one chance to go in correctly, take a GOOD HARD look at how many used ones go in and stay without crackout more than a year. That one chance mentioned is when new and absolutely no flaws in them. When removed, the removal process will 999 out of 1000 times result in very small chips in glass edge, those stress risers later result in crack when car heats like during summer. The later glues are bulletproof as far as leaks but make successful removal even more difficult, try cutting that cured glue and you'll see what I mean. I've seen removed glasses crack like 1-2 weeks later just sitting after someone took them out. Once flaws put in that glass extremely rare not to crack later. One of those things glass shops will NOT tell you, but there just the same. It's safety glass, the temper is to GUARANTEE that glass shatters with even small flaw. Safety issue that saves your neck in accident..................

I agree that you should rethink removing the front windshield and backlight (rear "windshield").

I'm not sure why you want to remove the door glass either. It can be tinted in place.

On the front doors, there are bolts attaching the glass. As someone else posted, you need to move the glass up part way so the access holes line up. After you remove the bolts, there is a combination clip / plastic nut that goes through the holes in the glass. It is round (sort of) with three slits. When the bolts are installed, the clips expand to hold the glass. The end of the clip that goes through the glass needs to be collapsed and pushed out the same way the bolt came out. The opposite end is what needs to be collapsed. I was able to get my hands between the regulator and the door skin and collapse the clips, but it takes a lot of finger strength. One of the two is easier, as the hole in the regulator is elongated, and did not give as much resistance. Unless you get these clips out, the glass is not coming out.

Once the clips are out, tilt the upper glass to the outside to pull it away from the regulator and pull it out of the door.

Good luck with it.

I know this thread is old, but to assist other people searching in the future, use a quarter press the clips out from the door glass after removing the bolts. Its easier than squeezing them out and once I figured out to use a quarter, the clips popped right out.

To help anyone searching. The best way to go about the windshields is removing any weatherstripping around them, and you need a kit to cut through the silicone/glue. This is typically a razor on a long knife to allow for leverage, also there are a couple other tools you can google windshield removal tool. As for the side windows, I ended up removing the weather strip on the bottom of the window (exterior side) as well as the strip on the bottom of the window (interior side). I know this is old but just helping the next person. Also removing the windows helped my paint job look 20x better.
