Hi All,

my alternator light is on at over 5500 rpm, and there's no charging then.
I was thinking, that brushes are dying and jumping at high rpms... but then I've realized, that the whole corpse is broken (big crack all over the body)... not possible to remanufacture...

So, I think, I need the whole alternator replacement, and my old I'll use as the parts donor if needed...

Here in Europe, Ford told me that this part is obsolete... and even if they have some in their stock, the price is sick... :rolleyes: ca. $500

I saw that at rockauto.com there are several remanufatured and new ones... prices are under $200

Colud you please let me know, which of the aftermarkets alternators are worth the money? I'know it's hit or miss, but maybe there is a company better than others...

And if you know the other e-shop (better prices) I can order to ship me to Poland...

My alternator is 96bb-10300-BE type.
Motorcraft no. EGL1297R



Some catalogues say 110A, some other 130A... but let's say I'll buy 130A...
I suppose I should look for "saddle mount" alternator.

REMY Gold (#92317) looks nice, $200... ca. $300 with shipment... still less than $500 here... :nonono:

I used an Autozone Duralast Gold alternator, free lifetime warranty. Has about 70K miles on it w/ no issues so far. I realize you probably don't have autozone stores there, and I'm not too sure of who rebuilds them for Autozone. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
 
Will Rock Auto ship to Poland? If so, they sell Motorcraft alternators. I'm not sure if your ST200 calls for a different version, but for a V6 Contour, it's $241 + shipping.
 
Unfortunatelly, we don't have autozone... and they don't sell online...

I saw Motorcraft GL481RM at rockauto, but I can't see if it's saddle or side mounted...
I found it cheaper HERE, but it's also not cleared if it fits Mondeo...

No. it's not cheaper, as I have to pay $91.50 for core :laugh:
