Just a quick question. I tried looking and couldn't come up with anything concrete.

The question is:
What, if any, is the difference in fuel economy between the Zetec and the Duratec?

I might be able to get 30 mpg if I did 70. Set cruise at 74 and get 28. Stop and go city is another game.

Highway in my SE is 27-28. I've gotten as high as 33.25 in the Zetec. This is running at a pretty constant 72. Around town, I don't notice as much of a difference, as the SE is a MTX and the GL is an ATX. With the manual, I tend to keep the revs low. Usually in 5th gear by 30 mph.

<-16-18 or so.. :-\

on the highway, however I can get 20-23, even in boost for some of that time.

25 average usually. Did between 27-32 highway 70+ when my father in law was in the hospital for couple weeks and driving 90 miles one way few times a week.

My zetec (pre turbo) averaged about 28 city 32 highway. after the turbo my zetec averaged 25 city 28/29 highway

my SVT currently averages about 22/23 city and about 27 highway (although i have gotten up to 30) i average about 25 on my daily commute.

I've been able to take it on a 90mph cruise control set from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Roughtly 330 miles or so. It used 7/8 a tank. Thats coming down the 5. So using about 11~12 gallons roughly?

Gotta get it fixed back up for that reason as well. New car does the same trip at 80 using 16 gallons :(

Might want to watch that speed on I5. I've had several family members receive tickets in the mail for doing exactly the same thing. They were picked up by CHP air units.

The Zetec will get better MPG because it is a 4 cylinder (2.0 I4). The Duratec gets worse mileage because it is a bigger engine (2.5 V6). My Titan is a 5.6 V8, it gets even worse mileage because it is a bigger engine.
