Any chance that last picture would have a shot at the calendar with a little tweaking? All I did was a color boost and contrast/brightness adjust. I know the car needs to be a little lighter.

the scenery was great (sky, shadow background) but the car needed to be fully lighted for it to stand out. Shots like that require professional lighting with screen reflectors to reduce the shadows on the car. Or just rent a light stand (from any Heavy Eq place) and use white sheets to reduce the amount of light. And one more hint (if possible) wet the ground under the car.

I C, if you can work the lighting on the software you use to get the effects on the first pic and just lighten the car a little.

AFAIK the calendar people shun using photoshop, which is why I stuck to iPhoto's built in tools.
