ok i have a red fluid dripping from the heat shield above the main cat.
the only red fluid in the car is power steering. but how did it get here.:shrug:

also this pic is behind the passenger side front tire, looking up from under the car.

ok this next pic im guessing is for the a/c. the black can. but its loose and not bolted down. there are 2 mounting points but no bolts. and if anyone knows what size fits there into the SF that would be wonderful. cause i cant stick my head up in there to look.

Ummm your transaxle has red fluid in it...

Check the lvl of it first.

Also the power steering reservoir is at the back left corner under your hood. Try to follow the reservoir lines by feeling them. See if the hose is wet. Also get under the car and feel around the transaxle. See if you feel anything wet.

no i have ford honey in the trans. trans has no leaks. what I'm trying to figure out is how the hell the fluid got to that heat shield.

but any input on the black canister thingy.(its not bolted down) i think its for the a/c.

It is the evaporator for the a/c.

2. Its power steering fluid then. When you drive remember the car pushes all things to-wards the back. Therefore the fluid can head to-wards the back. Yes it came from the heat shield. the heat shield is somehow being it's collector for this leak.

Like i said. place your hand around the power steering reservoir and lines and rub them. Follow the lines all the way. somewhere it has to be wet.

Actually it's the Accumulator.

The size of the bolts are probably M6 or M8. Did you have A/C work done lately?

It's funny i just replaced mine 6 months ago.....i already messed the name up.

no a/c work that i know of. it is now zip tyed down. now the PS reservoir, the 2 hoses coming out of it was wet when i cleaned the motor. i pushed them all the way back on. so the pcm wire harness has fluid on it. now that will be leak #1. tomorrow i will be trying to find leak #2 it may be coming from around the steering rack. grr its not fun trying to look around there. ill have to use a mirror lol.

I think leak number 1 was the culprit over all.

If you can take some clamp's from a local hardware/autoparts store and clamp them down.Do that for the sake of knowing they will never come lose again.

There maybe 20 cents each at a store.

I worked on my A/C, check the how-to section on A/C compressor install, I may have the size bolts that were used noted in the how-to.. i don't remember for sure...

Well yourr gonna have to feel the line more. There might be a crack or cut somewhere on the hose. It might be not noticeable from just looking at it.

Wipe everything down with the rag. Start your car and turn your steering wheel left tehn right so the power steering can build pressure. Then go out and rub your hand on the hose and see where it feels wet.
