THE STORY:

This car was bought in April 2002 at 38K miles at a small dealer outside Boston. The car has been very reliable and economical car to drive. I love driving this car very much, but after some long hard contemplation, I have decided to part with it. I need money for graduate school, so, the car should go to a owner who can enjoy and appreciate this SVT as much as I do. The modifications this car has was done only with new parts (mostly Motorcraft parts), and with the expectation that the modifications would be a upgrade, in addition to being discreet. This car had not been modified until about 90k, or about 5-6 years ago. This car was once turbocharged with a aftermarket (Nautilus Performance Group) kit that was enjoyed tremendously on the previous 2.5L engine. With this knowledge, it has the drivers side fender cut-out in order to facilitate a cold-air induction system for the turbo. Obviously there is nothING there now, but if this car was to be turbocharged or had a true cold-air induction system, it would be easily installed. All modifications where done with new parts, and all invoices associated with
parts and installation are saved in a 4" binder; along with an additional 4" binder that contains all other invoices, service papers, every oil change slip, and documentation. This car has ALWAYS achieved 20+MPG, regardless of which engine combo was used while using the A/C. This car has A/C that works VERY well-- a must in Los Angeles; it should since it's all new! The car has FLAWLESS tire ware, considering the LASER alignment the car receives consistently and the additional camber adjustment that was added to the car. New transmission parts, suspension control arms, a/c components, sway bars, bushings, sub frame, knuckles, bearings, and tires all installed less then 10,000 miles ago (tires have less then 2000, clutch has less then 500 miles). Every single component maintained on this car was done professionally and with documentation. With the exception of the welded sub frame connectors, this car COULD be reverted to stock if a new owners chooses to do so.

FLAWS:

There are some flaws with this car; it has failed CA smog twice but NOT because of sniffer or visual test but diagnostic test (PCM) failure. It has CEL's on intermittently with codes P1000, P1100, P0171, P0173 IIRC. It struggles when you floor the vehicle, but seems to have a lot of power and torque. The car has been looked at by a absurd amount of mechanics, multiple smog technicians, ford guru's, tuners, and there has been no consensus on how to fix this car. The paint has several flaws including dents, scratches, and normal wear. The antenna mast was replaced because it was broken, but it was replaced with another antenna with a broken mast that goes up half way (have working mast in A box). The trunk mechanism does not work on the key less remote, BUT it does function from the cabin and the key on the exterior. The axillary gauges do not function with the exception of the oil pressure. The wideband was installed by a authorized Innovate distributor that installed it incorrectly and fried the sensor; gauge works, but no sensor. Boost is not there because there is no turbocharger, and oil temperature sender is installed on a different oil pan (see parts list below) that had a turbo oil drain; simply installing the pan would make the gauge function. The car was involved in two accidents within two blocks of my home (on both occasions) while sitting stopped at a traffic light. On both occasions I was rear-ended and was compensated by my insurance company with a
new rear painted bumper (I have documentation from my insurance company that proves neither were my fault). The car is regularly driven. The car is driven and started and exercised at least once a week.

The stock trunk and hood are included, although they come with their own flaws since I have moved them around from garage to garage. ALL documents, service records, copies of pictures, data logs, all tune configurations, all instruction/shop/service documents, 3 sets of keys (1 accessory, 2 keys w/ remotes; one brand new) included.
