98 Contour SVT, New Motor HELP!

With the list of crap that the dealership appears to have done wrong, you've got to wonder if they put a real SVT engine in there. :blackeye:

Why would you relocate the battery with a 3L???

I paid our local Ford dealer $400 to drain the oil, remove the pan, and pull the bearing caps. I know they are not making much on warranty work anymore, but $125/hr for labor??? Not to mention the service mgr. was sleeping at his desk when I walked in. Fixing my car was a joke to him. He was actually chuckling as he added up the costs for a new 2.5L. The total estimate for parts & labor was nearly $7k. Disgusting.
 
heads up, any dealership sucks at doing anything but regular maitenence, its local shops that have the reputations for extensive repairs. Everytime someone I know has had serious work done at a dealership, they have out of the whole thing horribly dissatisfied, and spending nearly triple what they would have if they had gone to a local ship.

They don't want to goto court about this. So I just received a $5000 check from them. HAH. so I paid $2100 for the whole shibang.......on the down side, I still ahve to fix the crap they did not do properly. If you want to see why I had to keep my beautiful SVT on the road...here is a link to some pics....not the best but it show's her a$$ pretty well.

Crap, you would think Ford would do something about this type of treatment
to customers. As if they don't lose enough money every year??
Dealerships can be very tricky to deal with.
Case in point:
2.0L IAC valve from Ford = $378.
Aftermarket = $112.
Guess which one I bought??

Take your 5g, do the 3L swap, then leave the old 2.5 sitting in front of the service advisor's little sliding door office, with a "Go **** Yourself" note attached. :laugh:

The funniest thing is.....I have since then Bought a Re-Man 3.0L. was gonna Port and Polish the 2.5 and see what I can sell it for. Next weekend we are going to do the swap out. You all at CEG have been MORE than helpful in this matter and have taken me to a different level of understanding on the SVT Contours.

Side note. Looking for a guy I smoked on a 0-120 push on street. Looked like it was a 2000 SVT Contour White, Int was Blue Neon Lighting. Had a Hot chick with him.......I just want to know if she made fun of you???? BUWAHAHAHA:laugh:
 
The 3L is not a DIRECT swap... did you check out the changes necessary to throw this in your car?
