I'm a dolt, I can't seem to get the fuel lines to release at the pump, There is one red and one white, I would presume you push in the 2 tabs and pull up correct? I can squeeze them in but it won't budge, I've blown all the dust and dirt off and still won't release. I'm afraid of breaking it. Any suggestions?

Correct. Squeeze the tabs and pull up. Haynes has a good picture. It shows using a needle nose pliers to squeeze the "protruding locking lugs" and then push up using a block of wood as leverage.

Mine were so tight, I ended up using a pair of pliers in one hand to squeeze the tabs and my 20 oz framing hammer's claw in the other to pry that stupid thing loose.

YMMV.

yes they are very tight. But they are exectly like the vacuum line fittings on the UIM ...

I don't think so. The vacuum lines Require you to either push or pull (can't remember without looking) the collar then get the fitting out.

The fuel line at the pump, in my experience, was a whole different critter in terms of the way it works and its ease (lack thereof) of removal.

yes they are not as easy to get out but they work the same way. if you look closely the tabs you have to squeeze or push down on in turn push down on a sleeve and then you pull on the line to remove it.

they are definately not easy to remove as there are metal teeth in there to help retain the line.
