354 miles

What? Sorry dude, I don't need a full tank of gas to get me where I am going.
If I fill up at 112.9/litre, I am spending more money than if I fill up at 102.9/litre. Cmon man its simple math.

yeah but in the end you are still going to burn the gas no matter how much you fill up .... or how far you are going to go ...

and you save your fuel pump and the bill to replace it ...

how about this, if it is costing you $40 to fill your tank we can say it costs $20 for a half tank. in the time and miles it takes you to burn one full tank you have to fill up a half tank twice, but in that time the cost a gas has gone up, so not filling up is costing you more then just filling the tank in the first place. when you fill up again its a level playing field again ... and it starts over.

I think its much better to fill up completely and run it until you need to fuel again rather then just put alittle in or keep topping off ...

Up here its normal for gas to increase 5 cents a litre on weekend. Also there are even times during the day the price dips 5 cents a litre. Prior to holiday weekends the price movements are even more pronounced. So it sometimes makes sense to only do a half full until price settles down. I do the half full quite often.

I get about 350miles on the highway and about 250-275 miles if i do mainly city driving. I usually don't fill up till the light goes on, but does anyone on here see a problem with mixing gas ie:shell and bp, or exxon and citgo  I've heard different opinions about this. I don't like to mix them, but thats just me.

Exactly what he is saying. Not sure how that didn't get across with what I wrote in my previous post.

Example: Couple weeks ago I leave for work at 6:30 am. Gas at the corner store is 104.5/L. I come home at 3:30 pm and gas is 106.5/L. Later on I go out to run some errands/get groceries about 8:00pm and gas has changed again to 102.5/L.

I've never had a problem mixing gas from different companies, though I stay away from shady convenience stores that sell gas. (don't want any water in my gas)

I know some people around here swear by only going with Petro Canada. Supposedly it's suppose to 'the best'. I seemed to get good results with Pioneer gas (also liked the bonus bucks) but since the move it's hard to get since there is only one station in town. Now I go to Sunoco and cash in on the CAA cashback.

*blushes*

Yea, that's what I meant. Otherwise EVERYONE would be wanting my car!!!

I'm willing to make an offer if you're still getting 300+ mpg! j/k... I've had my Mystique for almost 2 months and have noticed better gas mileage. Amazing how it can vary when I went from a previous 4-cylinder (Mercury Topaz, ugh.) to this one and I fill up the tank almost every 2 weeks. AND the car is driven everywhere in the world and back by 2 people!
