3.0 Swap in 97 Contour

Hey, I have a 1997 Ford Contour GL with a 2.0 DOHC motor in it and i just recently came into a 1994 Ford Taurus SHO with a 3.0L 24 Valve DOHC V6 and I was wondering if the motor would be able to blot right up to the contour mounting or would there have to fabrication, if there needs to be fabrication that doesn't matter because i can do and i have already done it to my car to make it look like a 98 contour. I'll have pictures of the two motors and i would really appreciate help from you guys.

Search....it is definitely not bolt in what-so-ever

It won't work....you will be better off buying a V6 contour, buy an 04+ 3L, and sell your SHO motor and 4cyl contour. This topic has been covered before. Do some research....all your answers are right here on the forums.

No an honestly you woulnd't want to if it was take a look at how much parts are for that motor expensive I know I have a 91 SHO sitting in the back yard lol.

Well, the car is very rusty and the body probably won't last much longer looking at it. The motor is in pretty good shape and all miles on the motor are highway miles (the owner traveled back and fourth between Minnesota and Michigan) and the owner is the suspension engineer at Ford Motor Company in Michigan. I was hoping on saving the motor and not having it go to waste. But I guess since I keep getting a no from people....I probably won't do it.

The motor doesn't have to go to waste. You just probably won't be the one who gets to use it. :shrug: Talk to a junkyard. You might be able to do a straight-up swap for a 03-04 low mileage 3 liter. Or post it on craigslist and see if you can get a hit that way. Then you just need to get a V6 contour. Just be creative in getting what you need.
