3.0 duratec turbo build

i had a nosey through summit racing website there and came across piston rings, but dont know which ones i need yet.
seen these ones
http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/slp-e-970k/overview/
but need to check sizes.
also noticed they have K1 conrods but they are about $100 more expensive than buddy club or CE
so think i'll just order the bearings and piston rings
also need to look about ARP head bolts
and maybe some ARP big end bolts

K1 rods come with bolts. Not sure of the value of upgrading them. You can get the ARP studs from Summit, but only within the US.

Ah I keep forgetting your in Ireland. Try contacting JetStream Motorsports. They specialize in Nobles, which have the oil squirters. They should be able to point you in the right direction for someone locally that could do the work for you. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jetstream-Motorsport/158956534184330

I worked with Dave over there when I purchased my up-rated Noble stage II cams. He is a good guy.

thanks for the contact, i'll give them a call on this.

How long has it been since you looked at megasquirt? Its come a long way in a short amount of time. In fact, they just released a new version of Tunerstudio that has autotune for the warm up enrichments. I could supply you with a base map as I have megasquirt and a D30 engine on a standalone.

My daily driver runs on MSII V3.0. I built it from scratch myself and it has never let me down once in any way. It was $330 and the best investment I have ever made with cars. Im not saying to build it yourself, a preassmbled MS2 V3.0 is about 410$ iirc.

Any standalone will easily be able to control the VVT...its just a solenoid controlling oil pressure against a 2D map of RPM vs Load or TPS. The more pulsewidth the more retard on the valve timing.
i havn't looked at it in a while, but i'll have another look throught thier stuff and see, the problem is once i mention mega squirt to an engine tuner here they dont really want to work with it? but there are a few who will so maybe worth a look.
if i do go with it, yes that would be great to get a base map. thanks

well thats the K1 rods ordered and also some clevite main bearings and thrust washers
and a set of clevite rod bearings.
it will be a few weeks before i get them now just.

I haven't been able to find a cradle kit from ARP. You would have to individually order the studs I think.
That said, I don't think you can order a kit from Ford either.

i havnt found any yet either. its maybe going to be a case of taking them out, measuring them and see if any others use the same size?
what is in the 2.5's i wonder?

ive still been trying to work out for turbo sizing
looked up the garrett boost adviser but its asking for a lot of values i dont know eg
BSFC
volumeric efficency
pressure drop
effectivness
barometric pressure

some of the other parts im looking up are injectors, i want to try and get ones that will fit into the ports as they are.
if i have to modify/ make a new the fuel rail to take different injectors i will, but would prefer to keep it as it is.

on the exhaust side ive been looking at external waste gates, maybe about 50mm or so.
also need to look about a solid flywheel and an up rated clutch. for this i will maybe look about a mondeo st200 flywheel, which is a contour to you guys and an aftermarket clutch kit.
with my intended use for this i will need a good clutch setup. i jusnt need to see what the jaguar gearbox spline on the input shaft is.

Alright here is a bunch at once....
BSFC - Will be about 55 with a turbo.
All the other things you mentioned are automatically filled in based off your answers to the other questions. Just leave them alone and move on. You may need to look up the average barometric pressure for your area when you plan to run the car the most. Same goes for the temperature. The reason being is it is setup to chose these off of US zipcodes.

A lot of guys run the 28# Mustang injectors or the 42# green top Ford Lighting F-150 injectors.

For the flywheel I run a Fidanza and for the clutch I'm using a ClutchNet red clutch setup. I'd contact ClutchNet and see what they recommend. Good guys there and they know their stuff.

i'll try that with the 55 and see how i get on. thanks

Been looking to see what pistons are available, ive been thinking 8.5:1 but thinking this might be too low for compression?
May be better going up to 9.5:1?
This kit is available for Forged Diamond Pistons

I havn’t looked around much yet but they may be cheaper else where?
I want to get block stripped down and checked to see what size of pistons I need first

started removing engine from the jaguar last nite, so hopefully have it out tonite

If you are going with pistons then lower compression is better for boost. Boost equals HP, compression just limits the amount of boost before preignition causes high heat and eventually failures. Since we don't have direct injection on our cars cylinder pressure must be on the safe side.

This is the jag I am taking the engine from
