having problems sourcing replacement 215/50/16 rubber for my car this time or year . wintertime isn't helping the cause to find high-perf all-season tires ! also , according to dealers 215/50's are a rare size . if i want 205/50's or 225/50's i got alot of "on-hand" choices . i figure i would go bigger than smaller if i had to make that choice . i calculated the 225's are gonna measure 24.86" tall vs 24.46" for 215's . also the 225's will be 8.86" wide vs 8.46" for 215's . that isn't that drastic of a change , correct ? i believe the stock rim is 7" wide , so i shouldn't have any mounting or fitment issues , correct ? if anyone thinks i'll have issues , please comment before i make a bad purchase .

I would advise searching suspension and tire threads. You can probably find an hour or so worth of reading just on this subject alone. There are a bazillion combos used based on suspension, wheel sizes, etc. Plus, you'll find that fitment will vary car to car.

You may just be looking for a quick fix now, but knowledge on the rest of the subject is good to have. 225/50-16 & 205/55-16 are probably the 2 closest sizes to mount on the SVT wheels and each has pros/cons.

225/50-16 is what the SVT should have had to begin with, IMO. They fit fine and look soooooo much better than 215s
