2011 Ford Edge

And with all the buzz about ford's quality going up, I think they can start charging people what a quality car costs. I'm sure label whores won't be happy with that because it's "just a ford"

I like the flex, but it's still not a Cayenne, the price is fairly similar though.

Dissent: Looks like a plow truck. The front end must push enough air in front of it to get compression shock. What ever happened to aerodynamics instead of macho trucker grilles?

I was just saying this in dinner table convo like a week ago. All the trouble to get engines more efficient and the new designs have the drag coefficient of tank. Think how good mileage would be if today's tech was in the smoother designs of the nineties.

They probably use them twice as much as they used to so they can make the designs look "cool" but still be as efficient as possible for the free mileage.

In the nineties most cars were very well designed for aero, very smooth lines, softly contoured edges etc. In 2000, the lines started getting very sharp again, and the cars started getting much heavier, except the mustang, that one got fat in 94 lol.

You would be surprised how aerodynamic many of these vehicles are. Smooth curves dont necessarily mean aero, that was just the style for the 90s.... Remember, a prius has one of the lowest drag coefficients of vehicles on the road, and that is certainly a bulgy sharp design.

They need to get cracking on the air injection systems to make cars more slippery while still being tough looking.

Looks cool, gotta have the Ecoboost though.

Isn't 38k the SHO base price which doesn't get you much? Pathetic you have to pay a ton more $$ to even get a handling package in a SHO. I would never pay $48k for a baseline small crossover SUV.
The performance package on the SHO is $995, very good value IMO. I think the base is $37,995.

And WTF is a 'toaster car'?
