Was a great time this year as always. Travis Pastrana smacked a tree at pretty high speed on the 2nd to last stage. Wish I could have snapped a pic of the car but the cold ate the crap out of my batteries this weekend. Couldn't get a lot of pics I wanted. Almost bumped into Tanner Foust at one of the service station not looking. He was the kid on TF&TF with the white Jetta. He is one hell of a driver. Ken Block (guy in the DC snwoboard video recently posted) is amazing as well. Here is a vid of him drifting the corner. Maybe only 2 more driver pulled this corner.

Good pics Todd. Man that was alot of fun this weekend. In the end we only caught two stages, the last one at night was great! We had a hard time finding that school were the pits were. Got some conflicting directions from the locals:rolleyes: . Were pretty bummed, wanted to check them out Sat. night. We were wondering what happended to Pastrana, didn't see him on the last stage. Also whas it just us or did some of the drivers need to find were the gas pedal was  ? All in all a great time, already thinking of going back next year.

It seems like in some stages they were putting along like they had an issue. Then the next stage they would be moving pretty good. It seemed to me like some of the drivers were worse than in past years. I know wne walking on a corner after a stage it was slippery as hell. I guess you don't know until you're driving in it. The caliber of the cars has risen over the last few years. Not as many older VW's or DSM's.

I wonder if the locals gave you directions to the old high school where service was a few years back. When we go we only go to one spectator area. That is the one that is on Friday. After that we use maps to find the back areas. I Smith has it almost down pat where to see the good stuff. I hate standing in the spectator area with some dumb arse kids talking about things they have no clue about.

We'll have to make plans to meet up for next time. Wish ESPN would have been there like they were last year. Looks like Mitsu might be making a come back to be a sponsor. Subie is the only one I think.

I know its easy for me to say since I am not driving, but man they were practicaly coming to a stop a 100ft before the turn. Oh well. We wanted to hit the back areas, but werent really sure how that worked out to be honest. We made a split second decision to hit the last spectator area, and I tell you what we had a lot of fun there. There are to many people in some areas, so I would rather tromp through the woods to a spot were no one was at. Wish we had snowmobiles to get around in, that would have been great. Would be cool if ESPN came back next year. I think this event could be huge if they actualy advertised it, maybe even a display at the auto show. Looked like Mitsu might have been a partial sponsor this year. They had "event" vehicles running around.
Will have to meet up for sure next time. You can show us some of your good spots.
