I have a 2004 3L on my garage floor to replace my recently deceased (well damaged beyond economic sense anyways) ported 3L.
I loved my ported motor, but this time I'm going full 3L, with the possible exception of SVT cams....agonizing over this and examining every dyno and comment on the board. My rev limiter is at 7500 and I'm used to hitting it regularly. Can I live with shifting at 6300?
Anyways, I need a couple of quick answers from anyone willing to share:
1. How do you deal with the 2004's larger coolant outlet from the water pump to the crossover? I have my 2003 water pump too, but if I use this then the problem switches to the outlet to the block.
2. How can I adapt my 65mm TB? It looks like the IAC inlet is part of the 2004 TB.
3. I've ordered an NPG fuel adapter. I have 2 Taurus fuel rails, an 03 and an 04...which is better?
4. What is the easiest intake accordian to use? From my initial exam, their will be no need for an IAC connection and only one PCV. I usually custom mount my IAT.
Aside from this stuff I think this will go quick as I have everything I need at hand. Thanks in advance.
