Hey guys. Is their a fuse or relay somewhere for the overdrive? Trying to do the cheap things 1st. That tcc would have to have something to energize it right? I will probaly just end up riping the trans apart and fixing the valvebody / torq converter. Does that blasted trans have to come out to get the valvebody out? Will the valvebody unit come out in one peice? Where would the connecter for the tcc solinoid be located? I want to try to clean it. I was peaking around and noticed some trans fluit on the top of the trans. Mabey spilled some there. I did a drain and fill and it improved a bit, it does stay in O/D for a while if i use the gas petal. Eventualy the computer decides to shut it down. Stupid thing. If I use the cruise, it for sure shuts down complely like in 20mins. If you let off the gas in o/d is it suposed to shift down to 4th then lock to 5th when you accelerate again? I would think that it should stay locked in until the car goes below 45mph. mabey if i fart on it it will wok!

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but the CD4E tranny is a 4 speed OD tranny, so there is 1st, 2nd, 3rd, then OD or 4th...
 
yea then the torq converter locks above 45mph. should it stay locked when you let off the gas or is it suposed to release.

Yes but you can feel the TC lock...well, sometimes. Given that I have a tach it makes it easier for me to see. You can definitely see a drop in RPM at around 45-50 mph AFTER you stop accelerating. It's hard to explain...

TCC Solinoid Re,oval

I took a vb apart at the junkyard. Wanting to know how the tcc solinoid comes out. i have removed it off the vb, but how does the wire harness come out? Also how does the v/b come out? do you just remove all the bolts n slide it out?
