A shoot I did last night of a buddy's '76 Falcon, inspired the "Mad Max" movies. Just 4.5 years ago, this car was a basket case in an Australian junk yard. How's my photography?

PHOTOS GET MUCH BETTER TOWARDS SECOND HALF OF POST

It really is something special, man. If you look, you will not find a spot on the paint that isn't perfect. You won't find a gap that isn't even. You won't find a wrinkle in the leather. The best part of it all is that he regularly drives it! The thing really is a time machine.

Ha, I'm nearly positive I saw that car at a Springfield MA McDonalds a couple weeks ago!

that's an awesome looking car. it's just beautiful. and you did a good job with the pictures. now he just needs the "nose" to complete it.

Thanks a lot, man! I've been working really hard to get better, and I feel like each shoot I do makes me a better photographer. I tried to capture more of the personality of the car in this shoot more than ones I have done previously, and I think I got it.

i've been doing photography for a number of years now (about 17 to be exact) and i have found that it's best to relax. look at what you're shooting and what you like about it. then take the picture. now my wife and i have a couple of digitals but i still prefer a manual SLR. also i don't like posing, i have found that when people are working at taking a good picture it rarely comes out as good if it would if it were more natural. especially people, they tend to look more forced and tense, that's why i detest high fashion photography.

over all the pictures look good. i see some that I would have tried to get. Did you apply some effects to the first few photos? Not sure I care for that, comes across as trying to dress up an ok picture. I do like the interior shots of the mustang, where those HDR are just a different camera setting?

good work overall.

Well, that's where he lives, so I'm sure you did!

Thanks!
Great pics! Great cars too!!

I love old cars like that, it's like stepping back into history.
Thanks! And it sure is, that's why I love them so much.
Nice pics Matt. That Mustang makes my girlfriend happy in ways i cant explain...:help:
Giggity ;) Thanks, Mark.

The 2nd pictue is the only one with any type of "fake" effect on it. All the others are natural, with VERY little editing. The interior shots were not HDR, the car just had incredible lighting. Thanks a lot for the advice and compliments!
You still need a tripod or a pole to steady your jittery hands lol
Every single one of these shots was taken with a tripod. That's why none of them are blurry.

I'm not sure why, but the filters that are on the pictures with the Falcon make it more Mad Max. Does that make sense?

I can see that.
Some of the interior and engine bay shots are blurry :p

Otherwise, good work!
They were taken with a POS camera, so the picture quality sucks. Once I started taking pics with a better camera (that was 1/4 the price!) they got much better. Otherwise, the blur you see in some pics are due to an area focus setting, where the subject is in focus while the background is not.

Thanks!
