1650 - 1850 new tranny

so it has basically come down to me pulling the tranny it looks like...my question now is how much work is it to drop the sub frame and go from there.

me and my 2 friends have built everything from a z34 lumina to a cammed
lt1

"z34 and v6 contour are close in a race...svt contour was not close "

So is this something that three 19 year old kids can do or are we going to start and get in over our heads.

None of us have messed with fwd trannys, and we really don't wanna pull the motor...we all hate missing with electrical.

i have looked at old forums and seen basic info on there. seems that terry haines is the man at knowing what to do. So just wanted a breif description on what to expect and what to be cautious about

There is a great how-to on the old forums for rebuilding a transmission.

I pulled my Cougar trans and rebuilt it with a Torsen, SVT clutch, and Fidanza flywheel for about $1000 in parts only.

if it turns out to be the input bearing shaft is there a special tool i am going to need for all of that?
