SO, most of you know that I had the wheel bearings replaced in my car.
I haven't had it since Wed, which kind of sucks but w/e.
First, they could not get the old wheel bearings out so they told me I needed to replace the front rotors too. Now, I wanted to get slotted rotors when I had to replace them, so that wasn't going to happen.
-This ran me $397(original quote),
Second, I get a call today saying my car is ready, He mentions that my abs light will still be on. I tell him the abs light has never been on. He explains to me that the "tone ring" was cracked and it could go back in. He told me that it would be another $200. He said it would be fine to leave out. He then tried to tell me the bearings/rotors was going to cost me $476, i talked him down to the original quote.
I looked online and it said that I would have no abs if the light is on and def if the tone ring wasn't in.
I called my dad and he spoke to Dave, who is at the service department. I had looked online and it mentioned that the tone ring was apart of the hub assembly, I knew that it would be cheaper to just replace the whole hub assembly instead of just the wheel bearing then the tone ring. I was pissed b/c it would have cost me $200 less.
Apparently when my dad talked to him, the tone ring, hub, and bearing are separate pieces and it wouldn't have cost any less.
Now, going into school I had a decent amount of money, then books and miscelaneous expenses brought my bank account down. I had enough to pay for the bearing work, but now my dad is paying for the tone ring.
Kind of pissed b/c I dont like when my parents pay for stuff for me, but the reason we bought this car was b/c it had airbags and abs and I def want abs during the winter, so he didn't want me to wait and now i will prob not have a cr for 2 more days.
