who dares me?

I put in a dyno tune kit on a new cobalt SS 2.4L auto came as a N/A car.

thats what got me started. dyno tune has a pretty good product if you ask me. He had the 4cyl stage1 kit, he added the adjustable bottle heater, guage, purge kit. he still is waiting for the window switch and some sort of box for us to mount all teh switches and shrink wrap for the wiring in the passenger cabin (he doesnt wanna cut holes in his new car)

its a nice a$$ kit!

now i have the itch again. if i did get it again, i'd be sporting 2 15lb bottles and a direct port kit with a progressive 125 shot starting a 50% ramping up to 100% in 2 seconds. ugh i gotta stop myself. thank god i don't have money for it right now.

You go right ahead, hope you have a spare motor laying around for when it blows, lol

were you at sz 07?

i'm pretty sure you know that nitrous is nothing new to me.

this is what 165k miles and about 30 bottles of nitrous does to the stock motor. things dissapear out of thin air

people can say what they want. nitrous is only dangerous to noobs. i made the mistake of running a 100 shot on a 160whp engine, 9 hours from home, on the second pull. next time i'll pull a trailer with me if i'm gonna use nitrous in michigan. i did a best of 286whp 318 torque about two months before i blew it up. not bad for a stock 2.5!

i only blew one engine with nitrous, and it was a worn out stock motor, lol. the second one was a puddle, and i'm still mourning from that so thanks for bringing it up yet again!

Well the direct port would give you less worries about pooling & distribution, but can the stock valves and springs handle the extra flow that would be needed for that large of a kit? (i`m learning about nitrous still so sorry for the newb question)

Sowwie. Do you need a hug? I'll ask Rawburt to give you one.

If it makes you feel better, I had to swap engines in my car a little under 3 months after I bought it. And I still have a 2.5 in it. Gawd I wish I had been on this forum more then to find out how easy the 3.0 swap had gotten since back in the day when I had my old sable and I was trying to figure out if an MTX 75 would go in it.

Wow, that is already 6 and a half years ago.

that's not much of an issue because your only supplying the normal amount of air it only has to accomodate for a little more fuel and a little nitrous mixture it will flow great with a direct port kit plus your splitting the flow with 2 intake valves on each cylinder it wouldnt have a chance to puddle so it would make big power and even distribution would keep surges away and less possibility of spiking one piston so i think it would be very reliable
