ST220 and SVT UIM pics

205 WHP untuned is pretty good from the little bit I've seen. You only made like 190 WTQ though, right?

i'd have to find the sheet, but i'm pretty sure it was 196.... i do hope to break 200 TRQ with this full 3L even if i don't break 220 whp

You guys are throwing down some weak numbers...

I'll hit 240whp on my 3L :)

I wish the SZ's weren't so far away....

me too. :D i stand behind my statement. not so much as to be cocky, but more so to bring on some competition to SZ, as there is always someone better. lol

UIM=upper intake manifold

Changes lifted from another thread:
"This should be an easy weekend upgrade for anyone with a pre-2004 oval port motor with traditional PCV. It fits with no hood clearance issues. Heed the following caveats:

a. No EGR unless you get very creative.
b. Requires you to make gaskets to mate to LIM.
c. IAC is like the Contour and is plumbed into the manifold. Great candidate for a 65mm TB! An SVT TB will work, a Taurus TB will not work.
d. Brake booster outlet is just like the Contour

I bought this for my 2004 motor and found that:
a. It will not fit over COP units
b. It will not fit over the 2004/2005 PCV outlet on the rear valve cover, requiring a step back to the old PCV system."

FYI, I did find out a few things when doing mine. I found a north american application that used an aluminum LIM, and a partially usable fuel rail, and usable gaskets as well. Ordered all of them from Bill J. too, though it too a couple tries on the gaskets. We thought the LS ones would work, but they didn't. I tried to grab the p/n's for everything from my old orders, but the online logging doesn't list them, so I'll have to call Bill with my order numbers to pull them.

Also FYI, the ST220 manifold will also not clear the coil pack mounts on the 2.5L rear cover. I cut mine down to get it to fit.

I've the 2.5 SVT rocker covers and ST220 here ... they have only different colors.
Maybe you have a lower LIM?!

It's possible, because I'm not 100% sure the LIM I have is the same casting as the original ST220 LIM, but I doubt it, since the ST220 LIM's I've seen at Ford engineering seemed to be the same casting at least. Are you sure your cam covers are the same as the US spec ones, with the same coil pack mount on the rear bank? Have you actually tried bolting yours down on the engine? I didn't realize it wouldn't fit until I was bolting it down and it wouldn't quite sit flush w/ the LIM on the rear bank. All I did was trim down the height of the coil pack mounting bosses, and it fit fine.

I'm wrong!

Only the left one is the same.
The right one different! The ST220 has only 3 mounts and the total hight of the cover + mounts is 67mm (80mm on 2.5 covers).

The LIM is 59mm high.
