2010 Ford Mustang

One thing that kind of irked me is that Ford has, once again, forgotten the balls. While it will be fast, the new Challenger and Camaro will probably beat it. All they did was rice out the air box...:nonono:

Challenger and Camaro are roughly $10k more than the Mustang GT. There's also a pretty strong rumor floating around about a 5.0L engine beginning in either 2011 or 2012, putting out 350hp at least. That makes the 'Stang as much of a contender as either of the other two.

It should also be lighter.

That just looks like an '05 Mustang with a nose job. Although the '10 Mustang's longer hood overhang does remind me of the '68 GT500s.

not really. the rear quarters are different. as well as the front fenders. can't find any pics of the rear though...but anyway it looks eleventy billion times better than the 05 mustang. or the 2010 for that matter...

Ah, thank you psychologist and author Dr. BAD SVT. It's good to know that you know my thoughts and intentions better than I do.

Holy crap man, now your in here...causing problems

Badsvt is simply saying let it go.....it's okay now...it's over....your beating a dead deer.

Fine. It seems I've overestimated the average intelligence here and will adjust my jokes to suit.
You might want to get that stick out of your butt. Or stick it up further

Looking at the picture of the 68....the newer mustang most defintly reflects the old car. I kinda like the extended hood. Untill i see it in person, it's really hard to comment. Kinda like me...i look way better in person. Ryanblacksvt can vouche for that

Garbage, everything is shrinked and unproportional; they should've never changed the look after the '04s....

Looks like a 1:1000 scale of R/C mustang knock-off toy:nonono:

The lights in the grill are disgusting. Put those somewhere else, please!!!

Speaking of the retro look, I've always thought it would be neat to see an exact replica of the older cars with modern upgrades. For example, take a 1968 Camaro exterior body and upgrade the guts of the car to have the luxuries of the current day. That would be a true retro look hahaha

But I don't see the rear being retro at all in that picture. It kinda reminds me of the Infiniti and Nissan sport coupes...

Me thinks you should look up the "SN65".

[i was not invited, or aware of this until a few hours before the event]

awesome setup for this event, as seen on the speed channel by some.

i even got to do a run on the dyno drag (well attempted to)

in my defense, that shifter was deceiving...only a lil shows above the console, but the throw is long as hell. also didn't want to slam it too hard...I did have a 0.145 R/T :D

I like it quite a bit more, but I think the first set of wheels in there are killing it, 2nd set isnt bad.

I love the back end too, starting to make the car look a little more retro.

I like the first set of wheels, they look alot like the ones you can buy through Shelby, but the second ones aren't bad either. I like the front of the car alot more then the rear, but maybe once I see it inperson I'll like it more:shrug:

I am not totally sold on the look, but the other upgrades are a good idea.

It may grow on me, but it seems like they made something that was quite clean and classic-looking a bit fussy.

I'm on the fence with the new bumper cladding. I get why the did it, but I just don't think I'm sold on it yet.

The front end and tails are growing on me, though.

I'm totally hooked on the interior, though.

and me says oh hell yeah, that's what i'm talking about. style and muscle. this new one just isn't my cup of tea, too be honest, when they stopped making the 5.0L i kinda lost interest in the Mustang brand.

plus what i am assuming is the turn signal between the two lights and then the marker on the front bumper just look very awkward to me. not a fan at all of a lot of the new American cars that are coming out. Very boxing and heavy looking. what happened to sleek and smooth lines?

Is this what you mean? this car is sweet... all modern with an old skin.

that is 100x better looking than the new design.

iit looks better in person. i just can't stand that plastic cladding along the bottom. it's a real sore point for me with my volvo too.

RawBurt, how do you test an interior? Is it just about durability and objective parameters, or do you get to also offer subjective look/touch/feel assessments on the ambiance, ergonomics, and whether things really work? It seems to me that all too many interiors are designed and nobody ever really uses them before they go into production across the board. My leading pet peeve is a lack of a seat height adjustment on the front passenger seat, as there are MANY cars I can sit in the driver's seat and fit, but not the passenger seat.

We do so many tests, I wouldn't even want to begin to get into it. I mostly do environmental type testing. Basically go to extreme conditions (hot, cold, humidity, sunload) and see how things perform dimensionally. Thats the tip of the iceberg, but im tired...

I just watched the Speed special for the debut.
I'll wait to see it in person, but I like everything (especially the interior) except the rear, and that might grow on me.
I have good info. that the 2011 will get a direct injection, variable valve timing 400hp 5.0/6-speed, I'd wait for that :)
And as far as performance goes for now, saving 400+# on the Challenger and 300# on the Camaro is nice.
Now lets see the '10 GT500.

Agreed. Whoever thought having unpainted black plastic along the bottom of a car looks good in any way, shape, or form should get fired. It would look 1000x better painted body color.
