I have a 99 Se sport. We started to get snow the other day so Chained up and pulled the tour out of the garage. It ran fine for the first few days. On my way home from dropping the wife off at work it died on me then I would start it will I was rolling and this went on for a few miles. then it finally died and I can't get it to start again.

I was told that it may be a frozen fuel line.

It was in the garage last night. Drove about 15 miles dropped wife then ran some Errands car never got turned off. Drove probably 45 miles before car died. I find it odd that it would freeze while driving and being under pressure. I installed the FSVT fuel pump about a year ago. I have no idea what to do but this in the only car with chains and there is nothing but ice on the ground any help would be great.

Fuel Tank Recall?

Fuel Tank Recall?

We have a 98 SE and had the fuel tank repaired under a recall. The fuel gauge was off, showing gas when we were out, and when you pump gas into the tank the gas nossel shuts off every few seconds. We had this repaired under a recall (one of about ten) and haven't had anymore problems. Don't know if it's related, but I thought I would mention it. If you need additional info on the recall I can probably find the paperwork, which may contain the recall number.

Welcome, bobinroch :). Thanks for posting. Your issue sounds like the fuel flapper extended warranty (which is not in effect anymore).

Have you put HEET or fuel stabilizer in the tank yet? And you should also test the IAT sensor.

I did put in the Heet, but not until it stoped. Didn't know they made such a thing. I am from Sacramento and we never have this trouble.

I check the IAT and it is test good. I pushed the pin on the Schrader valve for the fuel and there is no pressure at all.

Was looking at the fuel line it looks fine at the back of the car. The fuel filter is in an exposed part of undercarriage, What is the likely hood of the filter freezing and clogging up.

Well I figured I would add another wrench into the plans. I was taking the chains off of the tour to put them on another car and when I put the key in and put it in netural I stepped away a bit and the wind blew the door shut. Doors locked and the key in the ON poss. found my other remote when I got home. With about 3 hours of Flashers on and alot of attempts to start we now have a dead battery and nobody that will come out to open the door cause of the weather. Just waiting for the northeast wind gust to push my car down the street. :censored:

Well good news. My mom shipped her code reader from Norcal. Hooked the MX6 up to the tour to give it some juice so I could pull some codes if any. When I turned the keys to ACC I heard the fuel pump go. No codes so I tried to start it and it fired right up. Dunno what was wrong with it but it works now. I am thinkin that one of the snow drifts I drove through may have packed a fuel line in snow and it froze. That is the only thing that I can think of.
