Ok, I am having the same problem that probably most of us have had in the past. Here lately, I am starting to feel as though everything I do to my car, I do in vain. Every thime I go to a show, I just get ridiculed by all other participants. I don't know if it would be the same if I had an SVT or not, but I don't I originally bought the car just to modify something differant and stand out, but it just seems like I stand out in the wrong sort of way. I know some of you have seen my car, though not recently, I'll try post recent pictures here shortly. Is it only because people mock what they aren't familiar with?

If you don't already know, I drive a 96 champagne GL zetec.

Champaign isn't a bad color when you clean up your car. I have a champaign '95 2.5.

Sounds like you had good intentions when you got this car. But I think you went wrong somewhere around letting people's BS get to you. You should know, you're driving a Ford.

I had actually replaced those gauges for some black face, '96 mystique gauges with a tach. I do now have a volt meter on the "A" pillar and a wideband is soon to be installed in the change tray.to replace my existing A/F ratio gauge.

dont let their mockery get to ya bud. its ur luv for ur car that matters. truth is, the svt contour gets less beef simply cos of those three little letters..."SVT". i just posted on ur thread in the picture forums. i actually like the way ur car looks. u're gonna get praises on here cos this is a contour forum. ford contours are known nationwide as "grandmas' car". u want more kudos? get an svt. its kinda like when ppl say that ford mustangs are like butts. everybody has one. however, when u pull up in an svt cobra, its a different story. catch my drift?

What types of shows do you go to? Ford only shows? sport compact shows?

Forget what other people say. You like your car don't you? That's all that should matter.

Don't worry too much, man. Your car is super-clean, evident that it has been well taken care of, and looks pretty damn cool. I'm a huge fan of the contrast with the headlights to the body, and the tinted tails and lip spoiler are EXCELLENT. I would take what the nay-sayers think with a grain of salt. Clearly you have done tasteful mods with your car, so just feel confident with what you have done.

such is the life of an average looking car that not many people outside of CEG care for to begin with. I mean that in no disrespect but either your car needs to LOOK like it belongs in a car show with lots of apparent mods, or have some power modifications that make the fact that it looks so average a positive aspect that people will appreciate.

Mod your car the way you want and enjoy driving it. It's not a show car so don't get down on yourself when it doesn't get treated like one

The car over all looks good.

Except the head light covers give off that ghettolook. Kinda..... look at me i'm kool thing that has happening back in the mid 90's.

You have a nicely maintained mostly stock car. It's not going to get much respect anywhere. If you aren't doing it for yourself, you are doing it for the wrong reasons.
