i have new lcas to install and p0420 code keeps popping up. i want to replace the manifolds while the subframe is off. i have my brother's practically new oem manifolds (headers are out of my budget now). the ford manual has a lot of steps to drop the subframe. what exactly do i need to undo?

subframe has 4 bolts to undo
the steering linkage
front rear roll restrictors
the cd says to remove the ac condensor. is this necessary?
radiator lower supports. i should support it up above, correct? any need to drain it?
do i have to completely drain the power steering? the 2 lines from the reservoir, do they both run to the rack? is that where i'll undo them to drain?
undo swaybar endlinks

will the subframe just drop? i'll have jackstands under it. can i get it down by myself or should 2 people be holding it up and lowering it. how far can the subframe be lowered with the power steering lines still attached?

for the manifolds, i need to remove the egr tube and o2s and drop the ypipe/main cat combo?

for the lcas, i figured i will break them loose while the subframe is still on and when sb is dropped put in the new ones with new bolts and nuts then torque the nuts when the subframe is back on.

i confident i can do the job, just hate starting something like this without knowing all the small steps that can hold u up. i'm on vacation this week so i have the time to do it.

yes, but i dont think it has to come out of the car, just disconnected from the subframe

shouldnt have to drain it, just put the paperclips or nails to hold it up

not sure about this one, i didnt when i did my LCA's

undo swaybar endlinks
yes

I only lowered the drivers side, and left the passenger side bolted. i was able to lower it about 6 inches

yes

that will work

did u loosen the passenger side subframe bolts at all to be able to pry down the sb on the drivers side? it swung down about 6 inches and the power steering lines were ok? i always put my jack stands under the subframe. obviously i cant do that. where did u put the jacks?

I think I did loosen it, but I dont remember exactly. I had no problems with PS lines. I put the jacks on the frame-rail type part of the unibody, where the front of the subframe connectors weld to, right behind the rear subframe mounting bolt.

not to change the subject to much but Hugo how the heck are you bro? I haven't seen you in a dogs age .
