So Sick of Winter...

Anyone else sick of it yet? I went to work this morning, and my car door was totally frozen shut from the freezing rain. After finally getting it open, the door latch was frozen open. Had to drive 8 miles to work holding the door shut. Plus I've got bad cabin fever. And some weird primal thing where I'm craving leafy green vegetables. I'm definately ready for it to stop being cold and icy.

I hear ya. I went so far as to start the "Ready for spring?" thread in the New England forum. I can't wait to rip up some country roads in New Hampshire on a sunny 70 degree day -- sunroof open, green leafy trees all swaying in the breeze, and grab lunch at a favorite rural spot.

Hell yes. I miss the days of 30mpg trips too. Stupid winter gas formulas and high idles make my trips 20mpgs.

I saw this thread and I wanted to say people brought out the winter coats today in FL for 50 degree weather. They were saying as I came into work, wow its really cold out. I just went...:nonono:

I feel for you guys up north since I am from MD, and I thought that was cold. After reading "my door was frozen" I just realized I had no idea. again...:nonono:

Or maybe Virginia Beach. That's about the farthest south I can drive in one day, and the farthest south I can afford. Going there the second week of March. It won't be totally warm there, but more spring than here.

50 is cold in Florida when it's in the mid 70s every day. I forget how quickly your body adjusts to the temperature. 2 months ago 30 was cold, now it's warm here.

im wanting it to get warm soon. just got like 8 inches of damn snow.

dont get my wrong i like snow to board in. but man i start motocross at the beginning of march and i dont want to be freezing.

yeup. Needs more "Bienvenido al miami!" I may be going for a weekend in a few weeks if I can get the time off.

Miami is pretty great -- just know the layout of the city. There are areas where you never need to go, and don't want to, either. Stay out of them (particularly north of the airport) and you'll be fine. I lived downtown on the 20th floor of a highrise in a gorgeous, south-facing apartment with a 30 foot balcony, met a lovely girl. It's a great city. If you need any pointers on what to see and do, I'm happy to help, though you might tell me your interests, for while I could tell you a little about clubs, they're not my thing at all, whereas if you're looking for a great bar to hang and mellow out at, I have several perfect choices, for example.

one time i went to open the door to the SVT and it was frozen shut, when it finally opened i ripped the weather stripping and damn near burst into flames with anger

Gotta leave the window down during winter storms -- then you can just Duke boys' it into the driver's seat in the morning.

Did that with the Maxima a few months ago and discovered a pile of snow on the driver's seat the next morning.

I've been enjoying the ice-covered roads and driveway :D One weekend with 45+ temps is all I need. I'd love to just get the car washed and install the under-seat subwoofer (requires removing half of the interior) without freezing.

I'm getting tired of winter now also.
We haven't had a "real" snowfall (more than 4 in.) yet and I'm bored with it now.

I did get a new toy to play with in the snow though (if we get any significant snow). Got it last night.

Mmm, new car smell FTW!

jesus woman how many cars are you up to now?

4?
Actually 5 if you count Steph's SE. :)

Does this mean you're gonna be selling your snow tires?????

Juust kiddin', nice ride. How do you like it?

The snow tires are on the black SVT. I really like this one. It's got a moon roof, Sirius and that Sync crap. I haven't gotten to drive it yet since I'm still in the cast. :(

Another Explorer? What was the matter w/ the old one lol?

Yep, another one. It's my fourth. :) There is nothing wrong with the 03. Chris is correct, it was a lease. I still have the 03 and can keep it for another month. I have someone interested in buying it so it may not be here that much longer. Pretty good buy out price so I'd hate to turn it back in since it's spotless.

I normally turn in my Explorers and roll the equity into a new one but this lease co. is being a PITA. I got a great deal on the 08, one I couldn't pass up,
and the payment is cheaper too.

The salesman let us take it home before it was detailed. I had to take all the window stickers off of it. LOL! It had 5 miles on it (after the test drive)! It's got 40 right now.

What lease company? If I were doing a lease, I wouldn't go with anything other than an RCL (Red Carpet Lease) through Ford. They're usually great to deal with, and offer some of the most aggresive leases in the industry. Now, you could have another bank write the lease, but why would you?

Time was, Ford offered WearCare (and they may still), which extended the amount of damage / number of blemishes you were allowed per panel, as well as inside the car. Even on an RCL without WearCare, Ford is generally very accomodating about lease returns.
