More snow?!?!

thats what it must have been, the sky lite up a bright blue, it was just enoung to illuminate everything, there was also a white flash like lightening, it also wasn't anywhere near me but took power out all around as this was across the river in Suffield and my apartment lost power in Enfield

I saw that too as I was lying in bed... I thought that it was wierd to be having lightening during a snow storm. As far as I know we didn't loose power here, no clocks blinking or anything.

i went home for lunch and Jess was outside shoveling...fool..
this stuff is heavy and as Jay said it covers what you just shoveled almost instantly.
the snow blower is going to be working overtime tonight.

I went to work in the morning...took the wifes Jeep with the snows...had a lot of fun as there was no one esle out. Our company was the only one operating in the building...I heard building management was pissed because they wanted to keep the building closed, but we made them keep it open. I snuck out around lunch, cleaned up the driveway and now I'm working from home.

It's deceivingly heavy. I gave up trying to pick it up, and just plowed it off of our driveway with the shovel.

Once again, the 'Stang goes into hibernation until we have a decent amount of melting. Days like this make me wish I had a garage.

It's very light and fluffy up here. Maybe because it's colder. I had to shovel some to get my car to move.

I want to go on a rant about Manchester and how they don't plow side streets - I just got home and was thoroughly disgusted at the condition of the roads. Worse than my parents' home in central MA countryside. I also got stuck for the umpteenth time getting in my driveway.

broke my first sheer pin tonight.
no idea how either, i was only going through 8 inches of untouched snow and all of a sudden it stopped throwing.
walked around the front and sure enough one side wasn't moving.
all i had to replace the pin with was a grade 8 bolt. not a good idea.
I stopped to talk to my neighbor for a few, he has an old Ariens too, his motor seized before the last big storm so i was asking him about it, he got it running again thanks to some WD40!

and he had some extra sheer pins! YAY for nice neighbors!
(plus is is cool because he owns an El Camino)

my father has a snowbrd snow thrower ... we make shear bolts by taking, most likely grade 2 bolts, what ever is more handly at the local hardware store and cut the grooves into it himself where it would have been on the shear bolt ...

what ever it was took out my battery backup on my computer as it was fine when I left for work and when jess got up it wasn't working. unplugged and with nothing plugged intoit, it turns on for a few seconds then turns off. The battery read 12 volts when I check it but the battery power plugs on the back didn't provide any power when it was plugged in or not ... surge protected side still worked. oh well it was 4 years old so I just ran over to best buy last night and got a new one with about double the capacity

plus side, nothing plugged into it was affected

We didn't get the 3 to 6 they were calling for. We got NOTHING.
