well about 2 weeks ago i came home from college and was coming home from wendys. just turned onto a main road and was in second gear when out of no where this 88 accord hits me on my left and pushes me into the curb. long story short. the kid had made an illegal left hand turn out of the gas station. he got cited for the accident, and not having insurance. his mother also got cited. We tried contacting them they dont answer.After two weeks we get a phone call from his mother. we werent home at the time so we tried calling her back but she doesnt answer. I have been Furious about this for the last couple weeks, But my parents act like we cant do anything. but i wont make you wait any longer. here are a few pictures of the body damage.

that was the side that hit the curb. it ripped the lip off an e1 wheel. bent the a-arm to about 45 degrees and ruined the hub and ball joint.
 
That's what they invented the People's Court for dude!

Sorry to hear about your 'tour, hopefully you can get it resolved relatively painlessly.
 
yep you must be insured. since i didnt have collision the car wasnt totalled. but we had to pay to get it out of impound. i beleive the kid lost his license. we sent a offical letter to them with 3 quotes for repairs. they ranged from 3100 to 5000. so we are waiting to see what she says if we ever get to talk to them.

we could take them to court but even then we might not see a dime.
 
thats what i said. i want to take them to court. but it seems like my parents dont?!?!? If i wasnt 2 hours away at college and was still at home id persue this myself but being this far away and having to transportation to get back home ive left my parents in charge. plus the car is in their name.


i have to give a HUGE thanks to my dad. the way the car sits and drives now is all thanks to him. he grabbed all the parts for me installed them and i beleive did a eye allignment. also thanks to Nanny for letting us work in your driveway.

just cause he would win in court doesnt meen the defendants have the money to pay...then you have to fight just to get them to pay even though you won! then it could come down to small monthly payments or some crap...

hope it works out though, sucks to see that happen
 
i wouldnt even sell his car id burn it right infront of him haha. yeah apprently we cant even garner the wages. whatever i just want at least 2 grand from them and ill call it even

with the lein as long as they dont die or try to sell hes screwed
 
well if you have full coverage your insurance would go after them. you can also open a civil suit that dose not need a attorney and probably win.

my hit and run in my old car. the guy left the car at the scene and well ran. he had no license and it was not his car. he is in prison right now. from that and other charges involving drugs. but we cant do anything because he is put away. my insurance went after the owner of the cars insurance and couldn't get anything. but that car was fixed with my deductible.

In these cases it's nice to have uninsured drivers coverage under my insurance. I was involved in an accident with an unisured driver just a week ago and I got a quote back today with the damage being $3500. My insurance company is going to cover all of that and then their going to send their attorney's to sue him. It's very cheap to have and is a nice way to ensure you get your money out of an incident with an uninsured driver.
 
I would've pulled a brick out of a nearby sidewalk and hit him in the face with it.

this is the exact reason why both of my cars have full coverage now!

in 2004 i was hit by an uninsured driver in my old Fiero. i only had liability and had to go after my money my self. i took him to court, won, AND got paid. we had to have their liscenses revolked before they paid up.

it took 9 months from the time of the accident to when i got paid, but it was worth it. just stick to it, document EVERYTHING with the car and all that you fixed. have all recipets, quotes from body shops, ect ect.
