I figured some here may be interested in this. This is a car owner by the family that owns the Ford dealer I work at. It's a 1942 Lincoln Zephyr, powered by a flathead V-12, that will start up and purrs like a kitten. It's spent some time in our showroom off and on over the past year and a half or so but is now sitting off to the side in our bodyshop. I wish I could say I've driven it, but the closest I've come is steering it while we pushed it the 200 yards or so from our prep department to the showroom. As far as I know, it's all original too, forgot to look at the mileage, but I know it's pretty low. Anyway, some pics, sorry the quality is kinda crappy, the lights were off in the shop and the camera was just set to auto.

those V12's only put down 110 horsepower. Its rediculious to think how much engines have changed.

Yeah, there's also a nice '29 Model A sitting around mostly restored that runs and drives fine, and the owner drives around a 73 drop top mustang that's never been titled. It's cool, I get to see some pretty neat stuff around there, the list could on.

No, you're right.

Indeed you are! And here I am! :D

im just waiting for Laura to come in here and mention a car from the good old 80s that he'd rather have

What, you mean like a White Lightning Capri? Or an '83 bustleback Conti? Perhaps a Daytona Turbo Z?

I was actually just going to comment on the commodious rear seat leg room in the Zephyr. I think that car would be a great drive.

Wow, do I feel dumb! LOL! This whole time, I was thinking you were some butched out, mullet wearing, Stevie Nix looking lesbian. And when you'd talk about past girlfriends.............. ahh nevermind!

It would be hard to get more compliments into your post.

Stevie Nicks never struck me as looking like a lesbian, but that may be beside the point here.

Laura is the car's name. I'm just the dude behind the wheel.

Well, since some of you seemed interested, I thought I'd post a couple more pics. Went back in the body shop today and grabbed a couple more since my batteries died the other day when I was taking pics. It's even lower miles than I thought, I'll let the picture explain though...
BTW, that's a Z3 barely visible next to it, for reference.

Feel the power!

The center of the steering wheel. I could almost see the ad slogan "The Lincoln Twelve for 1942!" Got any ads from the 42 Lincolns LauraSVT?

An artsy kind of shot

And now the mileage, as far as I know or anyone has told me, this is all original

While I was at it, snapped a couple quick shots of the model A I mentioned

Both cars are supposedly for sale. I wish I could get my hands on the Zephyr, that would be sweet. Story goes that when the father of the current owners bought the dealership back in the day (60's maybe?) the Lincoln was just kind of left in the building, so he eventually went and got a title for it. I'm guessing it's been dealership owned most of it's life!
