My driver's door electric window sounds like it has gravel in it when I lower it. How hard is it to remove the door panel and can someone point me to a picture of what's inside. It's a 2002.

Searched for this problem and didn't find any exact symptoms. If this has been discussed before, a link to it would be most helpful. From what I did find, I'm thinking it's related to the cable system.

a 2002?!?!?! where did you get a 2002 contour?
 
Same noise here, and didnt work after that. How to worked well. It nice to have a hand helping with attaching the window to it but not nessecary. Got mine throught Monster auto parts.
