the mustang is getting the following upgrades next week.

KYB AGX adjustable struts/shocks. kyb quad shocks

ford racing lower control arms with upgraded lower ball joints

powerslot rotors/ friction master ceramic pads

upr rear tourqe box kit to beef up upper/lower mounting points

ford racing rear upper control arms

maximum motorsports rear lower control arms

maximum motorsports 4 point k-member brace

maximum motorsports strut tower brace

keeping the stock springs, I don't want it lowered. then in july or august will be the bbk h-pipe and magna flow system  .

should handle nice after, has the nice big meats on her now. I'll play around with strut settings. I figured I'll get this stuff out of the way then do the research over the winter for the drive train mods. the rearend and mounting points for the rear suspension will be beefed and welded to handle extra power, get that done first instead of breaking stuff.

i'll post how it rides/handles after the alignment and playing with strut settings.

OK, heres my 0.02:

"ford racing rear upper control arms
maximum motorsports rear lower control arms"

--are the rear upper control arms poly? if so, you may run into some nasty snap oversteer, as the crappy 4-link design will bind without deflection from rubber bushings.

"kyb quad shocks"

--with updated shocks and control arms, do you really need quads anymore? I never removed mine, but then again i didnt have good shocks ever. I now am rocking a cobra IRS so they are long gone...

"upr rear tourqe box kit to beef up upper/lower mounting points"

--I would think money better spent would be full length sub frame connectors, best i have seen are the maximum motorsports. All these torque box fixes seem to me for real HIGH powered cars. I had my torque boxes just seem welded as they sat, never had any indication of stress. I had hpm megabite jrs, eibach drag launch springs, and M/T ET streets, 12.7 quarter times with 1.8 60'. I was dumping the clutch at 3000. I dont know your future plans, but this might be overkill for your car.

"then in july or august will be the bbk h-pipe and magna flow system"

--i would recomment bassani h or x-pipe. The bbk is ok, but the fitment is a pain. I had a bbk h-pipe, and it was a nightmare to put on and off, when i sold it to my brother for his 93 cobra, he actually had to cut and weld it to get it to align. I bought a bassani x-pipe, and it was about 10 times better, well worth the price differance as far as I am concerned.

hope some of this helps.....

i finally got mine all together, but i had crank but no start. I guess now its time to trouble shoot. weird cause I have spark, fuel, and i have checked my timing several times, but still no dice. as soon as i get it out and washed I will post some pics for ya.

the ford racing rear upper arms are rubber bushings, the main reasing for using them, most guys have bad problems using non-rubber uppers with binding. same with the diff side, using rubber also. that's why maximum only sells these upper arm vs there own. thier lower arms usea greasable teflon-lined spherical bearing at the axle end and a 3pc bushing at the chassis end to reduce deflection and bind.

the sub frame connecters are going to be done to, when I can find a drive on lift, it's on my list.

everything I have read on forums on the quads 80% say leave them the axle hop is a problem w/o them. it's a mix. I'm leaving them. may have to flip them to clear my bigger tires. cheap money.

I'll check out the other h-pipe I'm open for options.

I have been looking at motors and trannies for the not to distant future.
ford crate motor 360hp z304a high flow heads, e303 hyd cam, etc. before induction and a tremec tko tranny. so getting the chassis weak points fixed is what I'm doing, read alot about the tourqe boxes that why I went that way.

keep your advice/opinions coming I like them. took you advice on the clutch quadrant.

on your car make sure you are firing on intake not exhaust, meaning your not 180 out. I have seen that before. firing order, check for little stupid stuff like that.

although I'm sure you know what you are doing  .

yeah i never looked into the quad shocks cause I went with an IRS. as far as subframes, ESP (enhanced street performance) in sterling put some on my brothers 04 cobra. They dont have a drive on lift, but they do sit the car down on blocks to weld them in. I would say you got some good plans on the way. I have a B303 cam, and I dont really like it. Also, I have a tremec 3550, and its junk, you are smart going with the tko. It looks like you have a good plan and have done your hw, I cant wait to see the end result. Are you planning on going 5-lug? I went with 5 lug and 03 cobra 10th calipers and I LOVE the way the 13" look on a fox. Once again, I will post pics soon.

As for mine, i laughed at your last thought about me knowing what I am doing, i guess not, since i just realized what i did wrong. My mustang knowledge hurt me on this one, since I know the firing order by heart, I didnt think twice about the plug wires. The problem was the distributer spins ccw, and i put them on cw. So no, i guess i dont know what i am doing!!!

that is funny, but yeah the dist run ccw no you get one of these :troutslap: .

the tremec tko is a well liked tranny in the mustang forums and the t-5 will be a gonner with my motor plans. even if I biuld the current motor vs a drop in the tranny is going. staying 4-lug for now. I have a 32 spline 3:73 rear according to the reciepts from the other owner and don't want to spend the money right now, maybe way down the line.
