Attn. ALL SVTC and Duratec owners

almost 140k

i drive it like it should be driven, i get on it from time to time and have taken it to the track a couple times

bought the car with 90K on it

this is what i have replaced:

tierod ends
sway bar links
rear brake pads
plugs/wires
fog light bulbs every other month it seems

car still drives/handles like a champ...motor sounds mint...no issues with the trans. at all

104k, had to replace the clutch at about 60k...wasn't disengaging all the way. I don't know what was bad, but i just opted for a new clutch, quaife, and lightened flywheel. I originally bought it with 50k miles.

I haven't had to replace anything with the motor, except plugs/wires. Also just recently lost my alternator. Did need to have the oil pan gasket replaced due to a little leak though. Everything else i did was an upgrade, not because there was a problem.

I drive it like i stole it.

98 GL V6 MTX, 170,000 miles.

Replaced water pump around 75k
Replaced fuel pump around 150k
Replaced alternator around 160k

That's about it. I regularly change the oil every 3000-4000 miles with 5w30, and don't drive too hard. Spirited, but not rough. Up to 100,000 miles or so I did most of the recommended maintainence, PCV valve, fuel filter, etc.

Still on the original clutch, replaced the back brake pads around 100,000, I'm not even sure I've done the front brakes. Maybe once. Rotors are warped though.

210,000 miles on '99 Mystique LS, all by me.

Drive 100 miles daily to work on Interstate, usually at speed limit or 5 mph under. Oftentimes another 125 miles on weekends, all highway.

Original set of tires lasted to 40,000 miles
Second set of tires (Michelin) lasted to 105,000 miles (65,000 miles life)
Third set of tires (Michelin) lasted to 195,000 miles (90,000 miles life)
Fourth set of tires (BF Goodrich) only have 15,000 on them

Original waterpump and hoses

First set of sparkplugs replaced at 60,000 miles
Second set of sparkplugs replaced at 135,000 (and still in engine at 210,000)
Original plug wires

Front brake pads first replaced at 105,000 miles (still on the second set)
Rear linings replaced first time at 195,000 miles

Replaced each tail light bulb once
Replaced both tag light bulbs
Serpentine belt replaced twice.
Waterpump belt replaced once at 190,000 miles.

Cooling system flushed annually
Automatic trans flushed annually
Fuel filter changed twice annually.
Oil changes every 3,000 miles with Motorcraft 5W-30 and Motorcraft filters

Original exhaust system

That's about it!

98.5 csvt
Bought in 2000 with 29k
Now has 105k
Drove off the lot and the exhaust broke, dealer said the shop was closed so I drove home and replaced two bolts myself.

First time I filled the gas tank it leaked all over the parking lot, and the tires were shot when I bought it.
Dealer split the cost of a new gas tank and tires with me.

75k Alternator replaced
100k Transmission replaced
Both front wheel bearings replaced
New brakes all around this summer
Replaced fog lights this summer due to rotted plugs
O2 sensor just went bad
Will be getting plugs and wires before winter
Coolant flush before winter
Two alignments
New tires two years ago
3-4k mile oil changes

The first five years I owned it I drove it hard sometimes and normal sometimes, I put about 15k miles on a year. Now it only sees the road maybe once every two weeks unfortunately, and it's stored during the winters. It has definitely hit redline plenty of times and the engine has been flawless, it still pulls just as hard as when I bought it and it runs just as smooth.

99 silver frost svt

has 120,100 miles now . bought her with 81k one set of tires .

original clutch. still in good shape doesnt slip at all
new water pump 100k
rear sway bar links broke twics welded and fixed.
plugs and wires twic.
all brakes and rotors 100k
fuel pump 85k

tranny does need a rebuild but not in bad shape

i beat on it time to time but usally i keep her under 3500k because of gas prices .. lol ..

ive had her for about a year and a half and all miles are highway miles bc of school and work everyday 85 miles a day...

but everything else is in awsome condition

love it and will keep her forever.....

99 atx cougar original owner
today 65071 miles

~40k alternator went
~45k fuel pump went
~50k water pump blew up
~60k water pump blew AGAIN

and its been a peice of **** lemon car in the number of suspension issues its had [I am not even going to look at the service records for the number of tierods, control arms, wheel bearings, etc etc that this car has eaten]... its about as frequent as oil changes.

and the sad part is the car is absolutely babied around.

270,000 KM

waterpump replaced at 140K, clutch at 195k, alternator at 180k and again at 260k... um thats it for on wear and tear items I guess.

98 CSVT
164,600 miles currently
I purchased the car in May '06 with 149,900 miles.
I have replaced the tranny(previous owner blew the diff to peices)
Replaced the air filter with an autozone 19.99 cone filter (addin AT LEAST 30 hp!......)
Change the oil a little too often, 2500-3000 miles. (my svt hates thick oil)
Replaced the serp belt 3 times, and the tensioner pulley once

What needs to be fixed on the car

New tires
brakes (no squeals yet, i can just tell they're on the way out)
Plugs and wires (this weekend!!)
Oil Change
new front bumper
struts all the way around
rear transaxle mount/re-insert (tomorrow!!!)

And on the way i drive it, well it is after all an SVT, so that explains a lot. 60-70% of the time im drivin an SVT
30-40% of the time im just drivin a contour

(ohh and i was really just kidding about that extra 30 hp added by my air filter 'mod', just to not get flamed)

Bought new in fall of 98
167,500 miles on it now
oil every 3000 miles with synthetic blend
normal changes of tires and brake pads.
Snapped front spring at 78,000
2nd set of struts and coils all around
new sway bar links last summer
Iac at about 100,000
air condition condensor at about 150,000
Just before Christmas had to put heli-coil kit in #5 plug, works great
other than that it has been little else
Same tranny fluid,
same antifreeze
same fuel filter!although changing soon.
same waterpump
Overall car has been great and has only left me stranded on the side of the road once in 8+ years.

bought 7 months ago with 73xxx now coming up to 85500

left front axle spun second day.. (letting clutch out at 5500 rpms) (no0b)

wheel bearing at 82xxx
again wheel bearing at 82xxx+1 (torqued wrong)
so at 82xxx+2 replaced whole stearing knuckle.

other than mods.. listed in sig,
oil changes when i feel like it within the 3000k-4500k.. (syn blend)

driving habits.. every red light is a chance to smoke a honda.. and every turn is an opportunity to downshift and see how much i have to push my left foot against the floor to stay in my seat.

and i got my first speeding ticket last night! woot. :-\

bought the car with 12,000 miles 1 and 1/2 years ago. at 59,760 number 3 rod bearing went. i drove it like it was stolen. not a better way to put it. replacing it with a 3.0L turbo still....

new tran servo seal
water pump
radiator
fuel pump
window seal
new brake rotors, pads, and calibers (broke a rotor coming out of a driveway on the first hard snow storm and almost went into a ditch, anyone ever here of a rotor craking in half?)
Next i have to work on the IAC valve

1998.5 Contour SVT.. stock except for wheels and springs.
Bought it with 70k miles. No problems I can think of that happened before I bought it except a front left wheel bearing under warranty.

80k miles on it now, and the front left wheel bearing is shot again. The air conditioner has a leak as well. And a taillight burned out once  That's it though, the car has been a pleasure. ;) Other things like maintenance include tires and battery.

Driving style: Lots of cornering. Spirited driving, though I don't take it to the redline too often. 5 grand clutch drops about once a month.

The Thingy next to the IAC
Air Filter
Cabin Air Filter
Windshield Wipers
New Waterpump (Not yet installed)
New set of tires (225/50/16 Khumo SPT)

Transmission and Clutch both feel strong. I assume both are original because I do not see signs of Transmission removal.
Engine runs like a Champ
Currently has ~122,000

Purchased May 2000 New ~10 miles
2000 SVT Black

Dash X 3 (Peeling in Glove Box, Still Peeling in Glove Box, Bad Spot / soft spot could visibly see)

IAC X 2 (For throttle Hang)

MAF X 1 (For throttle hang)

Front Brakes X 2 (Once under warranty then replaced with EBC Greenstuff)

Hood Repaint X 2

Drivers doors repaint X 2 (Hood and doors had paint bubbles)

Steering Wheel X 1 (Cracking Leather (Was really from my Pager))

Shift Knob X 1 (Dealer Scratched when in for service)

Passenger Door Panel X 1 (See note above)

Clutch Master Cylinder Hose X 1

4 Sets of Tires (Wore out factory tires. Purchased Borbet Type T's 17" and new set of tires. Went through Two sets of R Comp Race tires on Factory wheels for AutoX. New tires before selling car.)

Drove it like I stole it. Had a 15 Mile drive to work and once I was out of Downtown drove 85-110 every day!
AutoX every month in GS.
Sold it in 2003 with less than 36,000 miles to a guy in Virginia. He was parked in a rest area asleep and a Semi did not set its parking brake and side swiped the passenger door on the way back! Repaint passenger side of car X 1.

Car had around 69K miles on it when I got it. Former owner had beaten it pretty well - rebuilt engine, MTX, and some front suspension work done before I got it. I've replaced the precats at 80K miles. I don't drive it hard. I want it to last and have nothing to prove. The next thing I'll need to do is replace the steering rack and the suspension. Car has around 101K on it now.
Karl

145k miles currently. Here's approximately what has been replaced and when:

75k miles
original battery

100k miles
shocks
brakes - pads/rotors
tune up - plugs/wires

120k miles
alternator and battery
O2 sensors

142k miles
starter
ECM (still in the shop about this one so it could be more)

It currently needs:
-trans rebuild (3rd grinds, others can be iffy)
-clutch
-most suspension bushings and definetely balljoints, tierods, etc...
-front rotors
-entirely new stereo
-sunroof motor
-sunroof shade liner

I'm hoping to limp it along for another year and then I'll just pick up a new car...
