Well I've matured a bit in terms of car modding...gotten my teenage riceboy mods out of my system.

I just picked up these new wheels and decided to snap some pics.

wheels are 17x7 5Zigen FN01R-C (15lbs a piece) and headlights are custom projector/hid retrofit done by Izn Trbl

this is what the car looked like before the new wheels...bye bye old look...RIP

also took it to the track a few weeks ago for the first time ever...I got owned by the driver mod and was only able to pull a 14.92@96mph but I know shes got a mid 14 in her.

Anyway, enjoy the Saturn...more pics down below. Yes I know there are tons ;)
 
The car looks pretty decent for a ion,although I never thought a saturn Ion could go 14.9 in the 1/4,but I looked at your page and noticed you had some nitrous so i'm guess that is a big factor.Anyways keep up the tasteful modding.

the suspension pieces you see at the bottom of the car are traction bars...gotta keep the axles in one piece!

and whats wrong with an Ion? its certainly a step up from a pre98 zetec and I can definitely say that from first hand experience...

also don't generalize Ions, there are a handful of RL's in the 14's bone stock. Actually, all Ion RL's are in the 14's bone stock. It took me a little work to get there but I made it...people thinking that all Ions are dead slow is exactly why I have the plate. Whether I win or lose a race people are always surprised when I'm right there with em...

as far as actual go fast mods, I have intake, header, exhaust and a 75shot of nitrous...the one time I did go to the track I was trapping consistent 95-96mph traps regardless of whether I pulled a crappy time or not. Next plan is some headwork though so I can dip into the low 14's and then when tuning comes its cams and a tune and 13s here I am!

possibly one of the worst looking car I've seen. The way the back doors and trunk come together really throws the whole car off.. But we all like different things.
 
I like the ions, my friend worked for a company in cleveland called Twistec, and They specialized in saturns and turbo/supercharging them a few years back.. They had a fully built ion pushing, around 20psi at 400hp..

It was pretty sweet.


props for modding a car you really dont see modded.. sorta like the contour.
