My rides...

Yea thats the plan. Well at least thats what I told him to do. I will probaly be doing the work anyways and I will refuse if he doesn't do it, lol! The place in Canada sells mls gaskets and arp bolts. The gaskets are $160 a pair, don't remember about the bolts. The gaskets have a copper center layer. MLS gaskets are the only way to go. So Fel-pro doesn't make a MLS for the S/C's? If you know of any were else that sells mls gaskets, let me know.

Yeah, that was what was wrong with it when I got it...they went out at around 149k...has a little under 180k now.

As far as I know there's no company that makes the MLS gaskets for the SC. I wanna say, and don't hold me to this, people were using the 98+ 3.8 Mustang MLS gaskets, or the truck 4.2 gaskets. But I think you had to drill out a rivet on the gasket to make them work. The MLS gaskets have a thin steel layer with a couple sticky rubbery layers on each side...they're the best I've ever used. I can get you the part number for the ARP studs. The 3.8L studs from ARP, the bottom row, the studs are actually too tall and need to be cut down, or else you can't bolt the exhaust manifolds back on. I believe the ones to use are the Chevy 2.8L studs, they fit perfectly and no cutting involved...I'll look up the number for you.

I'm not seeing anything there that resembles what the Fel-pro's are. I've heard good and bad reviews of Morona. This is how the Fel-pro's loook...

It's kinda hard to see, but like I said, they're a thin layer of steel, with sticky rubber coating on both sides. I know Rockauto sells them, I think they're called Permatorque MLS...if they're even available for the 3.8 yet.

Even better. It appears Fel-pro does make the 3.8 gasket! $26 a peice at Rock auto. Definitly a better option. I use MLS perma tourques on my own stuff. Thanks for the info!

Actually the SC is gonna be for sale either when I get the 95 back and running, or when I get the CSVT. Kinda hard to afford 3 cars when you're 23 and in college. I've got a couple friends with some sweet SC's...I'll leave the SC thing to them...get's a little pricey.

Let me know when you plan on selling the SC. I wouldn't mind having 2 Thunderbirds...one as a daily driver and one to play with .

Like I said, it'll be within a month or two, either when the 95 runs good again or I get the SVT.

There's no catastrophic problems with it...though it does have a few minor things. Mechanically the only thing wrong with it is the 2nd gear syncro is bad in the tranny. No big deal for me since I always start off in 2nd anyway. I've got another M5R2 to put in it. Not sure if I'll fix it or just sell the tranny with it...depends on how motivated I feel. Otherwise it runs and drives strong. The paint is 15 years old and starting to show in classic Ford form...it's faded on the roof a little and on the bumpers. The auto ride control isn't working right now. It's throwing a code for the problem, I've just never looked into it. It's a great car and I really wouldn't sell it unless I had to. With the SVT, it'll be my daily driver since I'm sure it's a little better on gas, and just looking for something new really.

Not sure what I'll ask for it, probably around $2000. I even found the original sales receipt from Springfield Ford in Georgia. Original sales price on March 23, 1992....$26,009.

Ever find those part numbers for the ARP bolts?

Yeah, I had to do some digging. I couldn't find them on our local site where I knew they were posted. I managed to find them on SCCoA. ARP GM 2.8L head stud kit ARP-233-4303 through Summit Racing...or just #233-4303 from wherever.

Realized I never really posted anything since I got it running. Finished up the engine and finally got a tune for it (after waiting a month from my normal guy I gave up on him and went to Lasota Racing). Runs and sounds great, still have a few bugs to work out though. Need to strap it down to a dyno to perfect the tune a little more, and I'm in desperate need of a higher stall torque converter...right now it's about 2800 stall, and I need at least a 3800 stall. BUT...a few pics...

The newest addition that'll be hooked up soon...too good of a deal and couldn't pass it up...

And finally...I just redid my exhaust not long ago. Took out the 3rd cat and resonator to put in a Magnaflow midmount di/do muffler and true duals...

Hey 281thunder. Do you run around with a guy that drives a cougar that has nitrous on it? I want to say that I've seen that car at the cone zone before. If so I was talking to you about it. I went to mason dixon and I saw the same cougar and t-bird that was at cone zone. I'm just trying to find out if I know you.

Where is that garage at in K-ville. It looks familiar.

Yep, that'd be Steve's green 96 Cougar and yeah we used to run around a lot. We've been down to Cone Zone and Mason Dixon a lot before. There's a handful of us in this area. There's also a guy from Harper's Ferry that has a few Birds that you may see out from time to time.

I'm actually around the Leetown area...off of Sulpher Springs Rd.

Are you about 6'-4" or something. Blonde hair. I think you were saying that it was a mustanf s-charger in your t-bird. And it took some finessing to fit.

I'm about 6'-ish, no blonde hair though, just brown. Yeah, it was a Mustang Vortech S-trim kit that was in it...definitely took some work. It's gone now though. The n/a version is a lot more fun. I've got it all torn apart now and we're gonna start sprayin the paint today hopefully. I may just have it at Cone Zone Friday.

What happened to the s-trim? I would think that it would fly with that on there. Maybe I'll see you around. If it's not raining. I haven't been to the cone zone too much this year. Maybe 2-3 times. I wish I had more time.

The Vortech was cool don't get me wrong, I guess I was just getting bored, lol. The problem with that engine was the old style heads/cams/intake, so it was basically a bottleneck for flow. I sold the Vortech and forged shortblock for enough to pay off some of my debts and built the current engine.

281Thunder, you got me missing my MN12s. I've had these:

1.) 1993 black 5.0 T-bird
2.) 1991 elec red 5.0 XR7 Cougar (my favorite of the bunch)
3.) 1995 silverblue 4.6 T-bird
4.) 1992 black T-bird SC auto (parts car I got for $300 with new motor)
5.) 1995 silver 4.6 T-bird (got for free because of bad tranny and dirty as hell)

I really had an attachment to the Cougar as it had nearly 300k miles on the original motor and it would still hang with stock 5.0 automatic Mustangs at the drag strip. I bought that car for $742 out the door at a used car dealership and rummaged through pull-a-part on the weekends and really made it shine.

BTW, I like what you've done with each car, keep it up!
