Dumb Foglights

I purchased silverstar bulbs for my foglights, I spent $40 on them. About two weeks after having them the passenger side bulb burnt out. Then two weeks after that the driver side burnt out. I'm a little upset for spending that much money on bulbs and they go just like that. Are the bulbs shorting out from washing my car? Did Ford seal the foglight assembly bad? Im sad I like my fogs on.

I doubt they shorted out, you made sure not to touch the bulb correct? If you touched the bulb, thats probobly the cause of them dying so quickly. The oil from your fingers, whether or not it is evident, will ruin halogen bulbs.

I hads the some thing happen but it was over alittle longer amount of time I do believe, I had emailed salvania about it and they claim they didn't know about any issues, maybe I will try again but I know I didn't touch the light when I installed it, it definately burnt out, and having htem on for about 14 hours straight also melted my lenses

yes with sealed lights like this if you touch the bulb and don't clean it with rubbing alcohol the oil from your skin will heat up and cause the bulb to fail

spend the 50 bucks and get Hella 2500's WAY better than stock.

I wasted my money way to much on stupid fog lights. I went from old stock fogs, to Hella 2500, to PIAA 510s. Such a waste of my time and money.

$34 in the end for brand new OEM stock fogs from BAT and I've never been happier. The stock fogs with a new lense actually look awesome and are stronger than any aftermarket glass. I will never go back to aftermarket.
