I think you're right. I'd bet it would be okay w/3L heads... but I think the higher compression is what's really doing it in. I'm hoping to find a 5-speed 'Tour, Mystique, or Coug with a knock sensor. If I can get a tear-tag number off of a PCM that's in a car that DOES have a knock sensor, I might be able to program it's calibration into my PCM. Or if I can find an applicable PCM to just swap in, I might do that too, since I don't think even the PRP software will let me program a non-knock sensor PCM to watch a knock sensor. I wired in, and installed a sensor, just in case the programming WAS in the PCM for it, but nothing changed. So my new top priority is a PCM that will monitor a knock sensor.
