Tire size, 40 or 45?

Hi i was just wondering which size tire to get. i have an SVT with stock suspension/height. should i go with 225-40-zr17 or 225-45-zr17 or another??

any rubbing, wheel gap, etc?

Ive always run 225/45 R17s on mine with a lower stance and have never had any rubbing issues or anything.

45 definitely, 40 series looks like rubber bands

ah okay thanks guys, so 50 is a bit big? my main concern is ugly wheel gap. should the 45s be alright?

and 235's are way to fat and rub, right?

For a stock suspension I think a 225/50/17 would look OK, maybe a bit big but thats the size on my wife's Maxima and it looks good.
Definitely 45 is your best bet.

i've never seen a tire manufacturer make 225/40/17. i think 225/50 would be too big. 225/45 is much better than 225/50. 215/45 is fine too.

I had 215/50/17's for a while, and they rubbed like CRAZY. Granted, my car was lowered ~1.25", but considering they would hit the wheel well liners as much as the fenders, I'm not convinced they'd clear on a car with even a stock ride height.
