SVT Throttle Body Gasket

Hi all,

98 Contour SVT

I am currently undergoing a UIM+LIM cleaning and gasket replacement. Accidentally purchased the normal 2.5 gasket for the TB and noticed the one I pulled off had a small rectangular cutout near the bottom. Is there a reason this is there? Would it not be advised to use the gasket I have without the cutout?

I don't mind buying the right one, I would just prefer not to make another trip if I don't have to...

I think the cutout is not a factor on the 2..5; it's there for idle air control on the 3.0. So it doesn't matter if it's there or not.

The normal 2.5 gasket might obstruct the intake, since the SVT has a larger opening. Although the mount points are the same, so maybe you can trim it back a little with a razor blade.
