surprise at the dyno

dyno'd the little zetec this weekend for fun against my brothers 97 escort wagon. suprisingly the tour put almost 125 hp and about 133 tq to the roller. iirc, the 96 zetec was rated at 125/125 crank from the factory. ill try to post a pic of the dyno sheet tonight.

ive got a vid on my phone too, but i dont have the usb cable or whatever it is you need to move it to the computer.

Pretty impressive for only exhaust and intake engine mods according to your cardomain. What kind of tune does the superchip have?

An UDP would increase the HP a bit more without much cost.
 
im not suprised. i put down 121hp and 123tq with just intake, custom exhaust, and FPR. i now have an UDP and am saving up money for a build. hoping to hit at least 220 at the wheels.

oh and my car has 233,000 miles on it.
 
Yeah, i thought so too. thanx. i credit a large portion of it to the aluminum flywheel. much lighter than the stock piece, and a very noticeable difference after installed.

the chip is a standard plug n play zetec tune. bought it from JDM Engineering in freehold NJ. been wanting to do the udp and some other things for a while, but im just gonna have a chunk of money tied up in the mustang for a while.

got busy last nite with errands, dinner and looking for an EMTB national registry study guide. ill try again today to get that dyno sheet posted.

Numbers look pretty much standard for your mods. Torque number looks real good.:cool:

I put down 121 with my ATX with intake, exhaust and chip.
 
here ya go guys. i was off by one on the hp and tq numbers, remembered wrong. what do u guys think. any dyno sheet reading pros out there?

so is the zetec motor the same as a focus engine? because if it is, you have unlimited options.....hehe. i did ride in a turboed zetec focus with a small turbo and i wasnt impressed, my SVT woulda ate it stock, but he said its probably only 160ish HP.....and i put down around 190 n/a

Do you have a Dyno sheet of this 190whp run?
 
i'm trying to find the post that CSVT#49 made with pics of the kit and my dyno sheet (pics are horrible, engine was filthy)
 
yeah. i hit nitrous at just over 4000 look at the power before that point. dont bother trying to prove me wrong if you are blind and cant see the lines....
 
i never said you didnt pull 190 WHP NA. i just said that a nitrous pull does not equal an NA pull.

looking at the plot i would agree that 190 NA is probably a pretty good guess.

~10 psi from a MHI TE04H turbo
FMIC
LSD, stage 3 clutch
and lots of other fun stuff
I hope you put down a good bit more than 220whp. Otherwise going into the engine would be a waste of money, it should be able to hold more than that on stock stuff.
