Springs?

Sure, if you want the ride to suck, damage other suspension parts including your struts, and in turn cost you more money later that you don't have. Yes.

Read the FAQs before you post and you wouldn't have to ask.

Cut/heated/shimmed/clamped springs!!!
-Heating, clamping, or shimming springs is a bad idea! They may lower/stiffen/soften your car but the negative effects more than out weigh the positives, and can be dangerous. Harsh ride, bouncy ride, what if one clamp breaks or shim falls out! Springs are engineered to safely support the weight of the car and have specific ride traits.
-Cutting suspension springs requires knowledge in suspension tuning, as well as metallurgical knowledge in how the cutting method affects the springs and car. Unless you possess this knowledge and know what you are doing, we recommend you leave the spring design to the professionals.
-We suggest you save up and do it right by buying a product designed for our cars!

I'm not trying to scold you, but everything you asked in this thread could have been answered just by reading the FAQ. From now on, surf them to see if they contain the answers, and if you can't find them, try searching.

I try to be as nice as possible to new members because this site is extremely helpful and a very friendly community as well, the more new members we can draw in and keep the longer lasting and more prolific the site will be. However, you must understand how frustrating it can be to see questions asked a million times when the information is readily available, and even stickied so it can never be buried. Finally, please remember bandwidth is not free, but this site is and we don't even have advertisers to clutter up your screen, when there are threads posted with information already posted it's a waste of bandwidth.

You dont wanna cheap out on one of the more important aspects of a car you can get a decent set of lowering springs for like 250 which would be a lot better than messing up your car or yourself imo...
