Slant 6

I might can do some measuring or whatever for you but you have to tell me exactly what you need. From what I've seen, contour duratecs are pretty level top and bottom. Many engines have tilted oil pans and/or engines (my escort oil pan is tilted but engine is level, many toyota engines are tilted way back).

Thanks all for the assist.
I've set up the mounts for level at the mounts, level in relationship to the intake and heads, and the bottom of the oil pan slanted back towards the drain plug. Since the axle center remains the same as it was in all my mock-ups, this raises the overall height of the engine under my hood, but I am hopeful that there's still clearance. I won't know untill I finish some more fabrication on the frame to slide it all back under the body. I'll keep adding pictures and dialog to the myspace account for those that are interested.

Ok I thought this thread was about putting a slant 6 in a Contour. This is about putting a Dtec in a kit car! Sweet! Why aren't you using a 3L?

The 95 is to get to the point of driving it. It's an enormous undertaking to built from scratch with absolutely no directions. Money is a consideration as well. I'm at the stage in life that I feel I can have anything I want.... just not all of it all at once. It will still be a thrill with 1/3 the weight gone, and my 95 was a stand-out performer. Another phase will be a special engine of one sort or another, super 3, or 3.5, or if the powerball comes in over the weekend, the Noble package with 6 speed.

I'm getting a lot done, and having a lot of fun. It makes you feel stupid a lot for each of the wrong-move set-backs, but so good to see something that will be prized by everyone that will ever own it... me first. I've never even driven one of these models. It will end up about the cost of any new sport car. I'm just making payments before I drive it, instead of afterwards.
